Suunto 3 Not showing accurate GPS tracks On the Suunto app. I have updated the firmware and phone GPS is active. But Only show rough lines not through the path. And misses more than half of the distance walked. Anyone can help me please.

Maybe you need to change your phone…AFAIK the S3 doesn’t have GPS, all GPS info comes from the phone…So S3 can’t do much here.

I’m using Huawei nova 5t. It’s a decent phone. Very New technology.

@sabeti_2000 My phone has GPS. S3 should use the phone GPS. That’s what it says in the manual
-
@sabeti_2000 Is the watch losing connection from the phone? That would explain the issue. Is your HR recorded the entire time in the Suunto App and only GPS missing?
-
@Brad_Olwin My heart beat is recorded. Just missing the GPS in some areas . But the phone is saying GPS is on and the watch had solid green GPS icon before I started the exercise. I am Just so frustrated with this now. I should have purchased the watch with built-in GPS. S3 is hopeless

Forgive the question, but you always start with the simplest solutions: where do you keep your phone while doing activity?
-
@Saketo-Nemo I keep the phone in my pocket when do the walking exercise
-
I think that’s the problem. Just for testing, try walking with the phone in your hand, even for just 1 km and save the activity. If the track is clean, I suggest you buy an armband or similar.
-
@Saketo-Nemo okay thanks. I’ll try that and will let you know. Cheers

The only other thing to mention is that I noticed it with a friend who had a Fitbit Charge 2 with connected GPS, battery saving options active on the phone can completely ruin tracks. Might also be worth a look if that’s active when in an activity?
