Software update 2.12.30 Staged Release for S3/S5/S9
-
@jw-cou Well it assumes the first loop is the starting point (so you are already doing that).
Thats why loop1.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I don’t understand what you mean… what’s happening currently:
-Start of the run: loop 1
-Start of the first loop / hit manual lap: loop 1
-Finishing first loop / “automatic” manual lap : loop 2
-…In the end the manual laps are:
-warmup/reaching the beginning of the loop
-loop 1
-loop 2
-…So it would make more sense to have
-Start of the run: loop 0 (or - or “warmup” or…)
-Start of the first loop / hit manual lap: loop 1
-Finishing first loop / “automatic” manual lap : loop 2
-…Or am I misusing the function?
-
@jw-cou you are using it fine but:
You could also have not pressed the lap button to pinpoint the loop start. The loop start would be then your starting point.
Example like you did.
- I leave home , run to the track and field -> press lap button and the first loop happens etc
Example differently:
- Go to the track and field start running , dont press any lap button. it will take the starting point and start creating loops

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Thank you for clarification. Why in SA we have only one type of LAP field?
If I have enabled auto lap and use also manual laps then what value will be shown under LAP avg pace?
Scenerio:- Auto lap 1km
- I press manual lap after 1,3 km distance. My avg lap pace will show my pace for next 700m?
- When I reach 2km auto lap will start working and AVG lap pace field will show my avg pace for next 1km (2km-3km) (assuming I won’t be pressing the Lap button) or from 1.3 km, continuing (auto lap at 2km will not affect it) ?

I didn’t know this! I’ll try it at the track later in the week!
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos that’s clear thanks! I thought one had to press the manual lap button to initialize the loop tracking, but I understand now that it will also happen if you go back to your starting point, in case your starting point is the beginning of the loop
-
I’ve had two cases of random reboots on my S9B with the new version , one right after the software finished installing, one more this morning when I leaved the swimming start screen on for a while , once I noticed, tried to go back and it just rebooted.
-
@herlas we are aware about the reboot that happens sometimes after FW update.
-
We also updated the manual (like finally ) https://www.suunto.com/fy-nl/Support/Product-support/suunto_9/suunto_9/suuntoplus/suuntoplus-loop---lap-timer-speed-pace-power/
Should show that about loop

I dont understand so well but in SA you should be able to see all lap tupes with their tabs there.

Why no weather insight documentation? I will go out in soaking rain to test route eta on a trail right now because I can’t wait.
Edit: found documentation on the very end of manual.

I noticed my ability to turn footpod sensor on/off is available again (i.e. fixed) . In prior firmware the sensor option disappeared after I turned off.
Is there a list of the rest of the fixes somewhere?
Also, If anyone has a screenshot of Waypoint name on S9 please share. Haven’t had time to test yet. Thanks
-
I am also going out to test wether wrist hr switch screws up target distance bar.

Re SuuntoPlus Safe:
If there’s anyone out there with an S9 set up to use a local position format … does it apply to the coordinates in the Safe screen?
-
I tried two, ones with degrees with decimals and one with deg minute seconds, safe screen corresponds to your navigation setting position format selection.
-
@lexterm77 That matches the manual description, “Latitude / Longitude”; thank you for checking. I was really wondering if Safe would carry over a user’s local (national) grid instead of Lat/Long (S9 manual 3.27). If there ain’t such a national grid in your parts, never mind.

This is how storm alarm looks like on SP Weather Insights

I have not so much time anymore… work/life balance has changed a bit… but I’ve had a quick glimps into S+. It would indeed be nice to use multiple S+ features. I remember that it was only possible to use one at the time.
With this update Suunto prooves that they really do something, listen to customers voice and implement the reasonable stuff.
wrong thread, I know, but I would still like to mention it once again:
it would be nice if Suunto would let us customize button functions a bit more, configurable order in the menue, hotkeys, lock button in watch mode (I can’t resist…) and my favourite SA related topic: no total ascent for chairlift activities (alpine skiing, telemark skiing, downhill mtb… etc).
Maybe even an e-bike sportmode… since I must confess that I had to invest in an e-bike for commuting reasons ONLY, I PROMISE!!! -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos have anyone else noticed that the battery percentage on the daylight watch face is not only going down but also up at times?
This morning I hade 49% and now I have 65%. -
@Richard-Thygesen
I’ll keep an eye on that if possible… did not notice that yet.
