@sartoric
@Brad_Olwin
@Dimitrios-KanellopoulosI found that zip file Gdansk-fw_2.8.32.8352-A, followed the exact instructions above.
The update began to start and a green circle began to fill around the face of the watch. It got to about the 9 o clock position then stopped. A red X was now on the face and a message on the bottom saying “your watch needs to be reset to fix the error”.
I think at this point the watch needs to go back to Suunto for repair or replace.

@ANDY-CROWE
Last chance, try to downgrade firmware with previous version.
Find one here (Gdansk file to download)

@ANDY-CROWE also even if it fails , maybe the watch at some point completes ? What happens if you press 12 s upper button
-
That didn’t work either.
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos 12 second reset doesn’t work. Stuck on down arrow.
-
I even let the battery completely drain. Connected to Sunntolink but same issue…the watch needs to be reset but it remains stuck on the down arrow.
-
@ANDY-CROWE
Even one thing that @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos makes me remind.
Sometime Suuntolink says that update has gone wrong, but watch is still receiving data.
Please wait… longer to see if watch will not finish to be updated. (let’s say 15 min to be sure). -
@Mff73 I’ve tried multiple times. The update never completes. The green circle gets to the 9pm position. The update stops and the red X appears every time.
-
@ANDY-CROWE
It stops on Suuntolink on your desktop screen, but I had some cases when desktop said the same, but watch was still updating and after some time, the watch reset and worked. -
I’ve left it over 4 hours plugged in but still on down arrow.
I contacted support via the mobile app and explained everything and they’ve told me to send it back. Not great after 6 weeks of trying Suunto.
Thanks for everybody’s suggestions and help.

Well … better than getting a finger, isn’t it ?
Defective units exists and support is great, believe me
-
@sartoric so we shall thank Suunto for not showing a finger, ok…
After a year and a half of using Suunto 9, both baro and non baro, I’d rather go back to Polar. As here in Suunto there is no feedback and no connection between bugs and what they release. Probably a brand new top product with weak software and dramatically dumb support team. -
@Алексей-Омельченко you get a little yellow card bro

I am sure you could do better…I have met and run with @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos. Guess what? He’s not dumb and neither are the rest of the Field Test team AFAIK. Admittedly I only know them online. Good luck with Polar, hopefully you have a direct line to the CEO so you know that the team is not dumb and you will get everything that you want.
I am fine if you don’t like the products, they serve some well and others not so much, nothing wrong with constructive criticism either, but your boorish, insulting and honestly inaccurate opinions regarding things you know nothing about gives us all insight into your personality…
-
@ANDY-CROWE Sorry for hijacking your thread. You should get good support from Suunto. Let us know how it goes. I have had a couple of returns to Suunto, one was my own fault and another for buttons that quite working. I have been very pleased with support.
-
@Brad_Olwin the only thing i’m so sarcastic is because they fixed none of the three bugs I have reported about one year ago.
I’m a software testing engineer and again do not care about what your cozy community say here about me and the software itself.
If you all like it, let it be. For the people running here with yellow cards I can only wish going f*ck themselves.
I do not care about getting banned cause it is the first time in my life I was receiving insults when reporting a bug. Let us consider it here as a norm for this forum.
And I don’t care where you all are here for free or are paid trolls or current Suunto PR employees (you are here all day and all night). So please fare well and good luck! -
@Алексей-Омельченко you’re a terrible person, that’s it
-
@isazi because here bugs hate me
-
@Алексей-Омельченко the ferocious finnish bugs!

Update*
I received an email from Suunto today. The watch is fixed and sent back to me today via DHL.
ohr chip, sensor flex and accumulator replaced according to the Service Note.
Roughly 2 week turnaround. Hopefully thats my only Suunto glitch and I can enjoy logging workouts again.
Many thanks for all the replies here with help and advice.
