There is no problem. I was talking about complicating the screen backlighting function. Why not just give the ability to turn on the screen by pressing one button?
Backlighting is not always needed in the daytime. Turning on the screen backlight every time you press any button will drain the battery quickly. -

As I understand it, Suunto will not make changes to the sport modes, but only add smart functions. This is very disappointing.Having the light come on with the push of a button is already working and maybe even the default setting on my S9B.
Change is always a thing some people can easier get along with than others.
The answer to the question why, probably is to have the software easier to maintain since the S9P added more features in regards of backlight.And your statement that there are no changes in sports is simply wrong. A new sport has been added (although I have no idea what it is
) and the new S+ feature is there as well, just to name 2 examples. -

These are not the sports modes that swimmers and triathletes expect.

Me as a triathlete as well would love to see triathlon mode in S7

You don’t need to enable raise to wake. So pressing a button can light the screen. What’s the issue you are experiencing / thing chnaged ?

I’ll get used to using the new firmware.Sad that Suunto went adventurous by cutting back on the multisport features. Good thing I didn’t sell the A3S.

Yes, it would. 5h battery is no issue at all. During bike the consumption is smaller anyway.
I usually do 1/2 IM or olympic distance. These are the only reasons now for me to keep my S9B… -

. I’d probably get picked up by medics before then mind. -
@jorgefd78 Same here. Windows 7 updated but always the message check your internet connection. Internet works just fine and I can’t even do a reset of the watch… strange

@stefan-kersting remember Windows 7 is not supported anymore by Suuntolink. You can still use it by forcing the update (download the zip and start the update manually), but it is a workaround.

My wife’s watch was shining all night long cause she was turning in the bed.
So my sleep qual is crap today! (Tone, backlight & vibrations are always off in all of my devices). What bothers me is that the Low backlight is too bright But there is power saving option so i can manage

I do miss inclination data field & particulates data field in climbing, mountaineering, hiking… SM.P.S. I do hate the tought of having a million third-party apps connected to SA just because of 2 or 3 extra measurement i want to see…
