Software update 2.16.26 June 10th 2021

The Suunto 3 watchface looks really nice! Is there an altitude figure as well?
-
The additinal new things I observed:
- The sequence in the Settings has slightly changed: “About” is now at the top of “General”, so you can check your Assisted GPS date faster
- Backlight intensity settings changed to only “Low, Medium, High”… I prefer the previous solution “0 - 100 % in 5 % steps”
- You can turn the constant backlight on from the watchface shortcuts, yes!!
- Timezones have been redone. The previous geographical definition based on states/cities has transfered into UTC+x definition.
Edit (additional):
- Raise to wake backlight works only together with Standby backlight on. It doesn’t turn on the full backlight (at least in normal watch mode). Probably by design, right?
-
If suunto 5 will get snap to route available even for hiking, it will probably solve all my issues with bad accuracy in difficult terrain surrounded with hills, rocks, trees. I am very excited to try this feature.
-
@jorgefd78 you’ve been always good with technology.
Here updated at the first attempt.
Nice one, lets test it!

I find it pretty amazing that S5/S3 are getting features from S9. Kudos for Suunto.
-
Is it me or has the scrolling improved too? I remember a small delay when scrolling up and/or down (especially HR). Now is much smoother.
-
@hristijan-petreski I have the same thought.
-
Suunto Spartan Ultras will be updated too?

No, since a while
-
@sartoric Sad.
That watch still has a lot of potential. Very sad that suunto let him die slowly.
-
@tompo7979
Why “die” ?
I’m still using mine a lot (always) I don’t need new functions every month to enjoy it -
hm. Raise to wake backlight does not seem to work for me
I am probably getting a lot of step counts while trying, but no light…Any of the experts: I am used to the “toggle” option with a two finger touch. Is this completely gone? Which setting comes close?
-
Hi all, just concluded a 16Km run (S9B) but the VO2 problem is still there, not recorded neither on the watch or app…very sad.
-
@egika Raise to wake seems to work only for the standby backlight. Give it a try. This makes sense, turning the brightness to 100% everytime would probably drain the battery more.
It seems like there is no option to turn the backlight off completely, now it is activated upon every button press. The toggle functionality seems to have transformed into the possiblity to turn on/off the constant backlight from the shortcuts menus accesible from the normal watchface or during excercise by holding the middle button.
-
@argo320 Do you use a S+ ?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos for this run I used the weather S+… usually I don’t use it…bit I noticed that regardless I use S+ or not, the VO2 record is random. Not related to S+.
-
@argo320 its strange because we dont get this issue. 0 reports from FT
I am not denying the issue though and there was a fix… So idk what to say. Lets track this on a different thread.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos ok let me know if I need to send the logs thanks.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Any updates for the S7 coming soon?
