      Hello,

I have a bit of an issue with the Suunto 9 peek that I bought today. This is my third suunto watch so I am familiar with the interface. Did my normal treadmill run today and my 9 peek doubled the distance of my run. Now I have done this run on a treadmill many times before with my suunto spartan wrist hr and there were no problems. Also to let you know that I have bluetooth running shoes, so the distance is correct . What can I do to correct this problem guys?

@srđan-štambuk This should get calibrated after the first outdoor run with enabled GPS.
What does Bluetooth running shoes mean? Is it paired as a foot pod? If so, it might also need similar GPS-based calibration or the calibration can be set manually in the foot pod settings.

        SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

@srđan-štambuk what @inkognito says, the watch automatically calibrates after one (or more) GPS activities outside. If you buy it and jump on the treadmill the distance (and pace) will not be good.

@isazi @isazi as far as you know, can calibration of the watch be triggered also manually? Or would you know what type of run the watch requires for calibration (e.g., road vs trail, or flat vs hills etc)

I have been walking and running outdoor with GPS multiple times; nevertheless treadmill distance on the watch is always half of actual distance.

My S9P was replaced and I haven’t seen the message about calibration, yet, on the new unit. Even though I already completed at least 10 (I guess) runs with it. However, I recall seeing a “walk and run calibrated” (or something along the lines) message after a trail run with the old watch.

            Thanks

@giacomo-laffranchini I’m honestly not good with the treadmill, my last experience in 10 years was last month. My S9P with Stryd was not matching the treadmill, while the one without Stryd was, but but watches and the treadmill were far from my perceived effort and wer emote than halving the distance (and the pace). So it’s better if someone else who uses the treadmill help you here.

In general I think the watch calibrates itself after the first GPS activity, but keeps doing some calibration after every activity not fine tune the algorithm.
