@dimitrios-kanellopoulos thanks for the info! It looks like the SW is again devolveped one step in the right direction.

I’m just curious, as a previous A2S, A3S, SSU and current S9P user, I’ve been following the functionality development closely. During this period, people, including myself, have continuously been requesting:

        1. Multiple (comparable) sensor support
        2. Structured Workout support

To me, these repeatedly requested functionalities seem to be manageble to implement in the current SW in the course of 6 years (SSU introduction with completely new SW structure). So why have these continuously been down-prioritized by suunto? I just don’t get it.

In addition there is of course other minor stuff like the lock button this one guy is continuously requesting. There is also the big stuff like NFC payment and ofline music control, that probably require completely new hardware (S7 successor / Garmin Epix competitor?)

I think that implementing frequently requested features could be critical to achieving increased sales, instead of implementing “nice to haves” like “overnight blood oxygen measurement”.

I’m obviously eager to understand why these frequently requested features aren’t implemented. I would love to see that the effort that the Suunto employees are putting into the nice products, eventually result in profitable sales rates.

Previously used: Cyclosport HAC4, Polar S710, Ambit 2S, Ambit 3S, SSU, S5P, S9P Ti. Currently using: Race Ti.

If you happen to find a bug, please open a detailed post in the correct watch section of the forum, so it is easier to keep track to (and report).

@theo-lakerveld complex intervals are rumoured to come in march, so that’s one thing out of the way.

Great update suunto! And a lot of potential as well.

One thing I’m curious about: it seems wings for life and redbul xalps suunto plus have expired, how come? I think wings for life was a fun one.

@dmytro there was a contract in place between the organizers and Suunto that expired. Maybe will come back in the future (wings for life), while the x-alps app has been unbranded and renamed as “variometer”.

I wonder - how will the new ascent / descent algo work on S5? Will it show absurdities due to poor accuracy of GPS based altitude, or is it still being filtered?

@łukasz-szmigiel is it still being filtered, and has been tested for a while. Do not expect miracles from a non baro devices, but ascent/descent is a bit better.

Suuntolink tells me I need to sync to SA before the update. I synced with SA multiple times, also reset the watch, but still the same. Should I worry about update failure and watch reset because of that?

Downloaded and installed update faster than drinking a morning coffee. Well done. 😎

@halajos I believe that is a standard message to tell you that if you have activities not synced they’ll be lost.

@isazi sure, understandable. It’s cool that Suunto managed to improve it. Do you know if this was fixed in this release?

@łukasz-szmigiel I do not think so, but will be fixed if it wasn’t.

Looks really promising for the future. And I can get rid of those S+ that I never use XD

@isazi just to be sure, I still need to manually select the S+ every time I go for run? Right?
