My training partner and I ran Intervals today. 10x60s Hard with 60s rest in between. Her Garmin Fenix 6 measured an average of 3:51 min/km for the 10 hard intervals. My Suunto 9 Baro measured an average of 2:37. We ran all of them side by side and were in Sync with the start and finish of each interval. I believe the Garmin time, because I am not capable of a 2:37 pace. In the table below one can see how Suunto over estimated the distance covered during the hard intervals and under estimated the distance covered during the rest intervals. (Suunto distance is the left collumn). Anyone else have the same accuracy issue? Or explain the reason why my Suunto9Baro measurements were so far off?

Hello, let me explain you my experience with S9B.

When I run with my s9b, I met some speed drops(might be caused by gps or something else) and my s9b will have a speed compensation after.

In other words, the speed will be boosted during a period to compensate what you lost.

It’s a good behavior, if you run with consistent speed for a long distance, in the end your distance will be correct.

BUT it’s a nightmare, if you run short, for example, I met the speed drop just before my endpoint, so it ruined my exercise.
Or you met the speed compensation too early, so you earn a lot of distance. (It begins with a software update, my initial s9b is ok )

I think you are in second situation.

BTW, my personal experience on S9 line, they are tuned for LSD runners, if you run small distance, high speed, it’s not the ideal watch for you.

@zhang965 Thank you for taking the time out to share your experience. This is the first time it happened in such a pronounced way.
