Dreaming of a “bare” Suunto without internal OHR, sleeptracking, resources… But of course with Suuntos advanced accurate outside features (fusedalti, accurate distance …). I am aware that I am pretty alone with this, because everybody wants wellness features. I always use external HR and know how to train and to pause… training peaks app plugin is useful…

@Andi-Buzer But does it make sense to measure hrv with ohr during the day and sport activities? Are hrv measurements reliable? I understood it makes sense to measure hrv during night when you sleep still for recovery assessment.

        App: beta

@André-Faria Yes, but I think S9P (which I use and enjoy very much) is more precise (distance, fusedalti) and has more recording time (battery), is lighter, less bulky… Isn’t it? Think also navigation is litte bit better now. But I do not have experience with A3P… just guessing

@André-Faria Yes, if they have not decided to get rid of the wireless sync 😠

@dulko79 I don’t know if the lifeq sensor is reliable enough, but I know that some Garmin watches offer it and that their values seem to be plausible. So I guess it depends on the sensor.

                Watches:
                Suunto 9
                Suunto 9 Peak Titanium

Any idea about price range? Will there be steel and titanium version?

Until it will be officialy released, hard to tell…
But, if we get - as we all hope - the new flagship, the price should be above the 9pp. According to what happened for all the previous models, It seems reasonnable to think that there will be either steel and titanium versions…this is my bet.

                    Suunto’s devices at home :
                    Vertical titanium solar
                    Suunto Race S
                    S9pp titanium sand
                    Suunto Wing
                    S9B titanium Ambassador edition, A3P, X6

Btw, I wonder how much newness will trickle down to s5p successor.

@Andi-Buzer The FCC drawings show what appears to be the same sensor as the S9P and S9PP

@seanvk It’s unclear if this new device will be part of the Suunto 9 range or is new Suunto model.

@DMytro Isn’t it too early now for a SP5Peak successor?

@Highlands now it surely is too early, but maybe in a year? I’m mostly curious if it will inherit the new processor and UI or will it be like the legacy watches.

Should be used for sleep quality and for resources… but it’s a rather bad thing (data-quality-wise) to do during an activity, last I know.
Just think of the trouble oHR has simply getting HR right, then imagine having to get even fainter signals.

@DMytro Maybe a S5P successor will target the successor of Coros Pace 2? So, it shouldn’t be like the legacy watches.

@Highlands if they create a new line… Perhaps they can bring all different market segments at the same time…

@Highlands Agree. I think the current 5 Peak, with the MSRP recently dropped to match the Pace 2, is definitely being positioned as a competitor, so it makes sense that future iterations will vie to continue to stay competitive.

I can envision that budget level of wearables getting more and more cool features sooner rather than later across all brands.
