Just to be clear what I mean with glossy and finger prints/dust. I have to wipe it clean several times a day. It’s not hard to read when lights is on.

Can someone describe or might show where the difference between S9PP and SV screen is?

Or is it just the sapphire effect?

@SuperD SV behaves the same. Collecting a lot of fingerprints.

@SuperD that is not normal though, looks like some grease or other substance spilled over your watch. Water and fingerprints does not result in something like that.

@isazi @SuperD Doesn’t it look like some plastic protection foil? Perhaps OP can try to gently check that this is not the case. I would use my fingernail to check that there’s nothing to peel off 🤔

            SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

No doubt, the Peak series watches are huge fingerprint magnets. 🙂

@isazi Perhaps it’s just my 11 month old sons grease and my handling him 😉 Just wondering if just Suunto S9 with sapphire is a fingerprint and (grease) magnet or Vertical also is? Coming from a Garmin non Sapphire I’m not use to this but then I haven’t tried a Garmin with sapphire.

@SuperD I can say that I have both a Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar and an Apple Watch Ultra (Sapphire). Both of those watches have some type of coating that repels fingerprints very well. Nonetheless, as for my 9 Peak Titanium watch, I’m happy with the trade-off of having to wipe the screen a few times a day. 🙂

Get some soap on your palm and rub it gently into the screen, rinse it under warm water. It should go away.

Regular use doesn’t leave such smudges, and the only case that I’m having problems in readability is when there are fingerprints and I have the watch mounted on the bicycle handlebar. When I do, I just clean it with my t-shirt and it’s all good.

Seems weird. I have a S9B, a SV and a Garmin Enduro (well, actually just sold that one). No fingerprint problems on any of mine

Suunto Sapphire screens do attract fingerprints etc more than other watch brands sapphire screens do. This has also been mentioned with some reviewers also, not limited to S9PP, here is where DC Rainmaker mentions it.
