    Soft reset solves the problem

This is not a solution. It only delays the inevitable. And it also resets quite a few of the on-watch statistics like resources and the altitude and solar history charts. And it does not always work. I still sometimes see abnormal battery drain after a soft reset. And it’s terribly inconvenient if you use your watch to record several activities throughout the day.

We’ve been a told a fix should be here by the end of September. I’ve still got my fingers crossed, but that leaves us with one more working day (unless Suunto releases updates over the weekend?). I’ve come to take any suggested timelines for releases with a (large) grain of salt.

It solves the problem - of rapid battery drain post work out.

By no means, is it or should it be the permanent solution. I think it’s quite clear given the direct interaction with Suunto folks in this thread and others regarding the behavior, that they are actively working on a fix

Agreed regarding release timelines…mostly directionally correct 😄

@duffman19 should have come this week already, but luckily for us Suunto developers found out some more battery drain issue and are trying to fix them too, so delayed to next week.

@Fenr1r yes, but this happened only today. Hope the developers can also reproduce that, and fix it by next week

@Fenr1r it may be the same thing as the developers have identified .without knowing the facts I believe it is related to what we observe by starting an activity .

                        Quick heads-up:
New FW is just under test with fix for battery drain issue.
If all goes well, it can hopefully be released within a few days 👍

Of some problems related to battery drain, specifically only those related to navigation : “fixed a case where power consumption remained high after navigation”. Am I wrong, or were there other causes of the problem?

hey guys, now WE have one fix for battery drain, let ALL people who were experiencing issues to come back with feedbacks, instead of speculating wether all cases are fixed or not.
                                    It might be iterative process.
My first feedback : i was 26% of battery before the update, and it was 26% after the update, it seems to work 🥳

@Mff73 Good call! I took the liberty to charge my watch while I installed the new FW and plan on doing a ride after work to confirm. I was one of the ones affected by the battery drain (8-10% daily drop) and run navigation during activities.

Currently at 99% and will keep the forum posted on battery usage.

@Ars-Vitae In the process of debugging a firmware issue, especially related to unexpected battery drain, various factors could be at play. Many users have confirmed that enabling navigation is a significant cause of this issue. It’s possible that this problem could trigger other issues as well. Therefore, it’s crucial to identify the root cause and fix the problem to see if resolving this one will also address the other potential issues.
