Suunto Beta Release for Suunto 9 Peak Pro, Suunto 9 Peak, Suunto 9 Baro, Suunto 9 and Suunto 5 Peak

The color of the ressource circle is now missing on the suunto 9!
-
Didnât install the beta (already submit bugs for a living), but does anybody know if this is now working? Having to choose it every time is annoying.
Note: Battery mode selection is memorized in the watch. The last battery mode you selected with a specific sport mode will be suggested to you the next time you launch that same sport mode.> The color of the ressource circle is now missing on the suunto 9!

Do I see continuous HR tracking on the 9PP? I likes!
-
S5 is out of support?
-
@Ilya-Sul yep, nice addition, but did you notice any battery life impact? I have lost 20% during 1 day and 8 hours with 1h30m of activity only.

Has it been made optional (1s vs 10m) somewhere in the menus?
-
I really appreciate how smooth to beta update process was. Now itâs time to test the firmware.
-
@Dan-Cantir all good here, feels even better Iâd say. Yesterdayâs evening + night took 2% of battery.

Who is the weather provider for Suunto?

I think Iâve read here it is Openweathermap.

Can anyone explain the differences seen on an S9P between the latest official version and this beta?
-
@Frederick-Rochette the release notes are in the first post, if you happened to miss them.
Iâm on Suunto 9 (non-peak), but additions seem to be the same, so I can share my experience:
Raise to wake is now either both in daily mode and exercise, or in neither. This is not very useful for me.
Contrast and fonts may appear to be slightly better, but this could also very well be due to me knowing that contrast should have been improved haha. I tried comparing with another S9B, but could barely spot a difference.
Strava segments are nice for strava users, but I donât have a premium account, so couldnât test.Pretty much it, my watch wasnât crashing before and it isnât now. Overall performance is as before also.
-
Hi Is there a chance that the option to illuminate the dial when raising your hand during training will return? I miss this.
-
@DMytro Thanks a lot! I saw the release note but wanted some feedback on how it looked on the watch.
Iâm not really interested but Iâve never found how to use the strava segments on suunto, even though I have a premium account⌠I donât know if Iâm the only one in this situation.
Thanks for the feedback! -
@Frederick-Rochette I think previously you couldnât use them, now you can.
-
@DMytro Thanks for the feedback.
I donât see the point in upgrading my S9P, I will use the old firmware. -
@Stas-Varazhbit there is a ton of bug fixing, so please UPDATE your firmware next week or whenever the beta reaches production.
-
@isazi I like almost everything about the current firmware. Iâve been waiting a long time for RTW to be fixed and if RTW will work as reported, Iâm not happy with it. And if I donât know what bugs have been fixed, it makes me wary.
-
@isazi Unfortunately, this upgrade is really a downgrade for me when it comes to backlight of S9⌠Iâd probably rather have bugs than this. If the current beta backlight implementation makes it to production, I will downgrade to the previous stable version I really donât understand why this had to be changedâŚ
-
@inkognito I believe that raise-to-wake saves a ton of battery compares with always on.
