Sensors full of Bubbles, Plastic peels off.

I just picked up a S9PP, literally an hour ago. I really like it! I bought it locally and I have 90 day return window. If it goes bad, I will go back to my Ambit 3 Peak. I only wish the display was a bit larger.
-
@Efejota what repair center? directly finland?
-
@dombo Slovenia.
-
@Efejota I would like a backup as well. Many custom sport modes…

Dear friends, my S9PP are back from service. It took two weeks exactly. Not bad. I’m satisfied. Back case replaced again. Now it looks like it is different one. Titanium on it is more fine brushed than on previous two pieces. It is much more shiny and edges are sharp as hell
Anyway, sensor on the back seems to be coated differently too. It is more solid and better feel. Hard to describe this. SN is 2405xxxxx so the newest one. I hope that it will be solved for good.
Problem is factory default settings, but I was counting on it so no surprise. First two training sessions were bit disappointing, because OHR measures nonsense - it will adapt after few days. I remember it was like this after big update and new algorithms. After few days it was spot on for me. Will see if this happens again.
On today night it stopped to measure. In the morning was sensor off and I had to restart the watch. This behavior was present on my watch already two times before and I saw more users reporting this issue. Hope for update which hopefully solves this bugs. -

is it possible to see a picture of it? Thank you!

@robis ![alt text]
It is more feel as visible design changes. It is more glossy and surface feel harder. Just compare with my previous posts.

UPDATE. After one week of use still no visible changes on the back side of the watch. Looks brand new.
BUT!!! It seems, that my opinion that watch will adapt and calibrate itself, was totally wrong. Measures total nonsense. Without belt is this piece not usable at all. So I will summarize my experience. First sensor - the original one, measures total nonsense and bubbles as hell. Second sensor measures very accurate and bubbles as hell. The third one - actual one, measures nonsense, bubbles not. Constantly faulty hardware from my point of view. The second one was the best. From the same batch as the first one. It looks, that they struggle a lot with quality constancy.
Today gym session - belt 154bpm OHR 76bpm at interval spit squat. On the beginning, before warmup, belt 73bpm OHR 101bpm. Today it generated random numbers. Finger on my neck is much more accurate then thisI’m soooo frustrated. My brother in law bought himself S Race last week and guess what - measures total nonsense. I love my 9PP but I will probably sell it and purchase Epix PRO instead. It is twice the price, but it is not question of price. I just wat it to WORK. Until there will be new hardware for OHR it doesn’t make any sense to me to struggle with this. All major competitors presented already new generation of OHR but SUUNTO. This one is originally from S9P with some update (or not?) used still in models from 2023. 9P was launched in summer 2021. It is ton necessary to wear the watch 24/7, because for example night measures are from OHR – is it reliable? Or totally out? I don’t know. HRV? Same thing.

@AntoniusGaius I purchased a 9PP 2 weeks ago and for the first time last night, I was able to compare the watch OHR and fingertip pulse oximeter readings. They both were showing exactly the same.
-
@Outdoorsy That’s nice. I cant say that pulse oximeter is giving me correct readings. There is nothing to compare with for me.
As I wrote above, my second sensor was very good and all readings very acceptable. Actual one - terrible. If you will have correct readings and no defective coating you are lucky one and you have perfect sport watch. For my needs best on the market.
I’m not so lucky and I will have to choose something else. My trust and patience is over.
Have a good time outdoors with your SUUNTO. -
Mine was fixed in a few days.
I sent it on Tuesday and received it repaired on Friday.
Service in Prague.
Well done. -
@maszop service seems to be back to the old good days 🫶

service
how does one actually contact service? There is no email, no form and no option anymore in the suunto app. Chat on the website isnt available either, allthough they are stating: “We are available for your questions on the chat from Monday to Friday, from 5 PM AEST to 5 AM AEST.”
-
@Renzo-Karsdorp for the chat I got the issues of the bubble not appearing, Its when I’m using firefox, or with script/adblockers, but when I’m on edge no problem
-
@Renzo-Karsdorp if you need a online service request see here.
yep chat doesnotwork right now,do not know why(I am able to open a chat but then service doesn’t respond.it takes a while to get online) -

I sent back (for the second time) my 9 peak pro, this time I was very pleasantly surprised, the DHL dude came to pick up my watch at 2pm last Friday and I got it back this Tuesday at 9am (from France, to Prague, back to France), only 5 days including weekend and shipping, that’s just awesome ! Especially compared to the 3+ weeks it took last time !
Now fingers crossed and let’s hope that Suunto sorted this problem and I won’t have to sent it a third time -
well…repairs lasted 3 months, now I have submitted a new service request for the same problem.
-
@Renzo-Karsdorp oh that sucks , for me it seems that the last repair (late june) is still holding up, the sensor is absolutely bubble less since 3 months
