When will we get new firmware from Suunto?
-
@Tieutieu I have to echo your sentiments. Using my SV since release. The only major bug for me was the map crash which was resolved with the last update. Outside of that itโs a beautiful watch that has performed well for me on a daily basis. Mostly trail running/running every day durations of 30 minutes to 7 hours.
My only current issue is the Strava Live Segments not showing up/loading and I am waiting for a follow up from customer service after a chat with them the other day. BUT that does not change the fact that this is an outstanding watch.
-
In fact, I was a bit disappointed at first that SV crashed on me twice (before the first bug fix). Then I visited the Garmin forum and looked at how it looked at the time of the launch of my Fenix 6. Lo and behold - it also crashed often and gladly in the beginning.
What do we learn from this: Keep calm. Will be all right! -
@isazi Suunto powered by Polar?
-
@Ilya-Sul Suunto and Polar merged.
-
@dulko79 Is this true?
-
@Ilya-Sul With the availability of algorithms since 2023, nothing is impossible. That leaves Valencell and lifeQ.
-
@dulko79 That would be super interesting
-
@TyreseJ4 no no, it was just my phantasy. But as Polar started selling their algorithms (Casio) maybe some of them could find a way to Suunto.
-
@dulko79 Lol maybe they should merge. It may save (and greatly improve) both brands.
-
@TyreseJ4 YES PLEASE
-
@jakubdr I think a lot of this boils down to nice to have v must have. What I do appreciate about Suunto after testing too many watches to count is the core things I need(accurate GPS, battery life, syncing with training peaks) work fantastic. The gimmicky stuff other brands offer is fun but not sure what I do with all that information.
-
Many of us are just waiting for bug fixes, though.
-
@dulko79 Afaik Suunto was bought by Liesheng. They should have the technology intellectual property to make use of

The new IOS app has an HRV field. There finally seems to be movement after the summer break

@Kurt68 The Race Start

@Kurt68 waiting for watch update nowโฆ

@Kurt68 I donโt see this HRV field in my iOS app. Where is this from ?
-
Is for Beta IOS

One new thing in the latest iOS beta, which is already working, are automatically assigned tags, based on the type of training session (Suunto Coach). I just did a short easy run, and it got the tag โaerobicโ (โAerobโ in German) assigned. Very nice addition.
It would be nice, if Suunto could apply those auto tags to all existing activities. That might be a long running task on the backend
When I press on a tag, I see all activities with this assigned tag. It would be nice to have some graphs on this screen, like min/max/avg HR, avg speed/tempo (whatever makes sense) over a selectable period of time (itโs already filterable by sport). This way we could easily analyze the benefits of our training. For example: In aerobic/long aerobic sessions avg hr should go down, while avg speed might go up (if we are getting stronger). Of course, having this on a larger screen (optimized UI for tablets or a web app), would be even nicer.
Thereโs already a screen for this: Training zone -> Analyze. Only the filter by tag is missing here. Low hanging fruit.

@wmichi wow, fantastic! Any idea how we can try this beta iOS ?
