      Hey guys,

I have a 9PP, but the subject is more about the Suunto bike sensor, and biking in general :
I’m using my bike for most of my daily commute and i would like a way to track my mileage, more than my performances, just to plan my regular bike maintenance and all.
For this, I used to have a cheap bike speed meter thingy, but now that I have a nice watch (the said 9PP) i would like to have something more “integrated” so I looked into the Suunto bike sensor, that seems plenty good (and cheap !), but there is very little information/test/reviews/videos online.
My main “issue” is I don’t want to start my watch tracking every time i take my bike, I saw online that Garmin bike sensor has a build-in memory that allows it to transfer everything automatically : https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/04/garmin-speed-cadence-sensors-v2-with-ant-bluetooth-smart-in-depth-review.html

Does the Suunto bike sensor has the same kind of system? the online documentation is very, very small

If not, what do you guys use for your “daily tracking” ? I’m open to all suggestion and ideas (that don’t include buying a 300€ Karoo 2 lol)

Hi, why do you need sensor? You have speed and distance from the watch (GPS), only extra from the sensor is cadence…

@nseslija i don’t ! that’s the thing, But i’m looking for something that integrate in Suunto app, and I don’t want to have to load “Bike mode”, wait for GPS fix, etc, on my watch everytime i take my bike… my cheapo “bike speedometer” does the job as I simply just leave it on my bike, and it turn-on and register all of my rides, but don’t connect to anything.
the Garmin system I described here looks perfect for my need as it doesn’t need to be turned on and simply send all the data when near the watch.

@Elipsus What is wrong then with Garmin sensor? Suunto sensor is not so ‘smart’…

@nseslija I don’t think i can connect to the garmin sensor from my suunto ? I can connect thru ANT+ but I don’t think it will save it to anything else than garmin (on their page it says “connect it to EDGE devices or your Garmin compatible device” I might be wrong but that doesn’t look like it

@Elipsus I had old Garmin sensor and it worked ok with my Ambit 2, but that was long time ago.
You can only connect one bike sensor via Bluetooth and have no idea will this sensor work with Suunto 9PP.
