Why is it not proposed to display the amount of remaining battery in duration instead of percentages? In fact on a watch that lasts a long time between 2 recharges like the vertical, the choice of the duration in time is more interesting than the percentage.
It is already an option that exists at Garmin, a shame not to find it at Suunto.
      Thanks

Because suunto is not following anyone, suunto watches are made only for the hardcore ultra mountainers.

@yome77 here is my opinion : battery life is so crazy that It is not very important IMHO.
I personnaly never remember when I charged it last time, and never had the chance to went out of battery ! 😊
PLUS : battery consumption depends on sport modes settings, the way you use your watch daily… So duration can’t be estimated as long the watch doesn’t know what uses are to come.
And also : before starting an exercice, battery time-duration remaining is displayed, considering the settings you’re using for that mode.

          Suunto’s devices at home :

          S9pp titanium sand
          Suunto Wing

@yome77 What @Tieutieu stated, the critical information is needed for exercising and the battery life in hours is provided then.

I agree with you, Suunto focuses on essential functions and that’s why I left Garmin. However, a widget that summarizes the different autonomy for our favorite activities would be a plus. And then for years our cars have been giving us the range in km in addition to the fuel gauge. Electric bikes do it too 🙂

@yome77 because it’s an absolute value, easy to relate to, especially after you learn how much battery in average an hour of workout burns.

Showing estimated duration is very tricky as Suunto doesn’t strictly adhere to battery plan when the workout is set. You can start a workout with endurance mode but the watch will switch to the best battery mode whenever a navigation screen is active. So you can have an estimated 100 h battery time, but end up having only 50 when using the navigation.

I wish there was a preference that would allow prioritising the battery over accuracy for scenarios where you really need the battery life.

I used an Epix 2 for nine months and the battery summary was terrible. If maps or courses were used it was downright wrong. Got burned a few times with that. @Łukasz-Szmigiel said is correct, the battery life is not calculated until you select the options you want in an exercise, which as I stated before is critical. It is done on the fly and that is one reason there isn’t a widget.

@Brad_Olwin I also want to add that I use a lot the maps on the SV and it doesn’t affect that much battery consumption !

@Tieutieu I can agree with this. I did a two hour run in and around a forest at the weekend, the map screen was on the whole time and I think I used about 2% battery from memory
