    Hi,

before switching to the S9PP (pretty satisfied for now) I used an AW and the only thing I miss about that gear is the accuracy of the wrist HR, always as accurate as with the chest strap!!!
Well, I don’t know if there is a reason, but sometimes it happens that during running the wrist HR readings start to go crazy (mostly they increase by 10/15 bpm). The funny and most worrying thing is that if I take off the watch the readings keep showing up and the only way to stop this weirdness is to stop and resume the session. Any ideas/tips? Thanks!

@ultravox I have an Apple Watch Ultra 1 and the OHR on the AWU1 is better than the Suunto IMHO. However, the Suunto does ok on low intensity runs and matches the AWU1 for 24/7 HR tracking. For high intensity the Suunto OHR is just not good enough for me so I wear a belt. The OHR is individual-specific! My wife, for example, has terrible OHR from and AW and uses a belt all of the time. For me the S9PP is the best Suunto OHR. The time I see OHR increase is steep downhills on trails where it can lock onto cadence, perhaps this is what you are seeing is a cadence lock?

@ultravox for 24/7 it seems to be mostly good in my experience. Running okay-ish, cycling and ice skating a random number generator with a number between 80 and 210. Use a chest strap.

It could be, I will pay much more attention next time and yes, I love this watch as well even if sometimes drives me mad. Thanks!

@twekkel I agree with 24/7, on par with the AW!

I haven’t used my S9PP a lot recently. but I did notice that a simple readjusting of the watch on the wrist can help to get good OHR readings when you think the values are odd.

my wrists aren’t “standard” and I see very good values most of the time during runs or general activities.

@freeheeler When I bought the watch I chose a microfiber strap and probably wasn’t a good choice, so I just ordered a velcro strap and will try it out these days. My AW has it and it is very comfortable, but more importantly you can adjust the watch more accurately with significant benefits, I suppose, for HR readings. Thanks!

update: I did a couple of runs and the velcro strap is way better than the microfiber one. I can’t say yet if it also solved the above problem, but I am very satisfied with its performance.
