@David-Lown thank you for enlighting me! I read and tried to understand the concept.
Priorities are given by Suunto’s product managers, not by you or me…

Anyway, I don’t really understand why I need a barcode, if the watch tracks the run with GPS. What is the difference to let’s say a Strava segment?
Could parkrun maybe use Suunto’s API to sync runs from Suunto App that happen at the designated time and place? Like syncing to other services.
QR codes seem to be a little analog in our digital world…

Barcode needed to get the result and the run. Trust me, once you start it gets quite addictive for a 5km at 0900 every Saturday!

Then add in some of the external challenges like alphabet, Cowell, various bingos and suddenly life revolves around it.

Well, at least that’s what my wife says…… 😂

@Egika if I understood the Parkrun use case correctly, you need the code to register your personal result with the Parkrun organization and ranking list by beeping your code someplace. With Strava it would (probably) only be for your own bookkeeping.

        Correct me if I’m wrong.

Absolutely correct - would also open Suunto a good market in the UK as we have over 760 Parkrun events every Saturday.

@David-Lown I registered for Parking years ago… And never participated 😭 I will forward this to Suunto, let’s see if having a barcode on the screen is feasible (Race should work, not sure about other watches)

@BrunoH right. Now imagine to have a park run S+ that would achieve the same just without the old school QR code 🙂
Just sync your result into the parkrun stats without tapping your code.

Yes, definitely. I am with you. Just thinking around how this could be taken to the next level with GPS watches 🙂

I run every Saturday and Sunday morning with my partner while the kids prepare breakfast. Quite addictive too 🙂

@isazi thank you from all the parkrunners! Now all I need to do is get an ‘X’ parkrun to have a full alphabet……

Steel, because of black color first, and last but not least also because of the price. However I must say that coming from a Garmin Fenix 5X Plus (with a titanium body), I’m also happy with the weight after all. The Race looks and feels definitely lighter and smaller, even if specs talks about almost the same numbers. I can’t wait that the lava red strap is available again to buy it and so got the best looking match for the Race!

@General_Witt Agree the gray cheapens it a bit. Did notice Suunto now states on their site that the Race Ti is Grade 5 titanium.

@General_Witt I think it has to do with the antenna.
All watches have a plastic part for better signal.

I got the Titanium for a few reasons. The main reason is the storage. 32GB future proofs it a bit. File sizes tend to grow, and map sizes certainly do. I got an update to my state map recently that was 400 megs larger than the original. In fact, all of the maps I have downloaded grew. Second I like titanium, it looks cool and it is slightly lighter and it doesn’t feel like steel. I like that not just the watch case, but also the buttons and furniture are titanium. The center of the watch, which I’m guessing is also the movement/module clip is plastic, which is actually a good thing as it helps protect the movement/module from impacts and bumps.

@GiPFELKiND I was worried about the size. I like the peak size so I bought the TI to make it a bit lighter. I’m really happy with it. Can’t almost not feel it on my arm.

@GiPFELKiND all black for me, I mostly mountain bike and hit branches all the time with the watch and not one scratch, pretty impressive watch .

Debating between all black and Race S all black while I enjoy my SV Ti. It’s like I find the Race S a bit better but I know I’ll need a bigger format. Both watches have the same price these days here.

Btw, I’m wearing now my old F6X Pro Sapphire Solar, that weights 82g with the 26mm strap (just to feel the weight).
I had weared that watch for about 5 years, done many ultras and It still feels perfect. The Race weights 83g and it’s smaller than the F6X. Then I don’t like at all the Race Titanium model (Titanium does look very good in the SV though). Thinking in the everyday use, where you need to like the watch, I find steel the good choice.
