New update will come next Moday (postponed to end of week)

I’ve had 32%, too Wanted to wait till battery goes down, but nope. I’ve put it to charger and update
-
@Tami999 at least it charges fast, my update is already installed
-
Installed, already testing on a small walk. Nice to have the new 1km and 2km zoom
Hrv activated. I will take time to play with the UI and settings later but it seems pretty cool !
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos thank you a lot for the updates!
I’m so curious to see what feature will arrive at S9PP and how the design team adapted the new UI updates on the small screen size
-
@Patrick-Löffler-0 the one with all the training metrics at the bottom
-
First thoughts for Vertical (no activities yet, about to head out for my weekly long run):
- UI is actually snappier! Feels like it performs about the same as the videos I’ve seen of the Race.
- I like the new widget layout, however I miss being able to scroll both left and right from the watch face. I previously kept health related widgets to the left (HR, sleep, training, etc.) and usability ones to the right (controls, media, etc.). Although the “pinned” widget spot is nice, I feel like I’ve got to do a lot of scrolling to get to some widgets.
- The “top button shortcut” (which is a “bottom shortcut” on Race I think?) is fantastic. I really missed button shortcuts coming from Garmin. One is enough.
- Multiple alarms! Having only one really irked me. I use my watch for reminders throughout the day.
- More black backgrounds throughout the UI looks nice. Presumably this is the result of designing for the Race’s AMOLED.
- Subtle update to the analog watch face hands looks good. Although I’d definitely vote for at least one other analog option.
- I really like that the battery % is displayed when scrolling up the activities menu.
- The VO2 max scale went from 5 bars to 6, so I no longer fill the graph! Gotta work harder, I guess.
-
@Egika Thank you.
-
@Patrick-Löffler-0 new Display designs?

I think that with the new scroll direction up and down and the new widget size (only half of the display) Suunto cleverly avoided the jerky scrolling of the previous widgets in display size, which was one point I did not like since using the Vertical.
-
@pilleus where do I found the watchfaces in the new UI? And are there new ones?
-
Settings -> customize individually (or something like that, I have a German setup) -> watch faces (there is one new, the one from the Race)
-
@pilleus thank you!
-
Well… update downloaded to my vertical titanium, tapped to install (with more than 70% battery) and after a countdown to start installing the watch is dead. Not even reacting to pushing the upper button for more than 12 seconds.
Any ideas on what could I do ? This is really disappointing.Thanks

I agree and also like the smaller widget size. But perhaps an alternative solution would be to have the widgets available by scrolling both up and down and the activities menu activated by the middle button. This eliminates the pinned widget, but then you could arrange the widgets as before with your most used ones accessible in both directions and less used ones in the middle of the list. But then I suppose it would start to look more like Garmin’s UI

Can anyone from Suunto comment if there are any plans to fix HR sensor accuracy concerns?
-
@Juan-Sueiro i have never seen that. Try to call the suunto support. Keep us informed.
-
@Antoine Thanks yes… I will report it to support. the unit is completely dead
-
@Antoine Update: based on info from another thread I was able to “recover from an error” by pressing the upper button and the middle one. Although the unit now displays that the installed version is 2.25.66, the suunto app says that the latest update is “downloaded” and ready to be installed.
not sure how to remove the downloaded update from the watch (a factory reset didn’t do the trick). I guess I will try to uninstall the app from my phone and see what happens. -
@Juan-Sueiro I suffered something similar one month ago when connecting SV to charger. Watch recovers from an unexpected error in a safe (and clean) mode software (previous version).
After that you can try to upgrade to newer version. I updated software and no problem since then.
