Computers can run alarm clock apps!

Note, it’s fine if “alarm clock features” are a requirement for one’s watch. I was just surprised to hear there’s literally no other device that could work as an alarm clock.

I use an old smartphone as alarm clock since it is very flexible to set several alarms with different times and days

@raven Obviously I do have a phone, even a computer, but I don’t want to bring them in the bedroom, and the big plus with a watch (on my wrist), is that I’m able to set vibrate alarm and so I don’t wake up my wife …
And to be totally complete, I also use alarms during day time because there are times where I cannot have my phone with me

PS : maybe “won’t be able to keep the race S without this feature” was too quick, will see 😉 But even if this feels like a small feature, it seems so easy to implement that I was disappointed not to see that

@wzxecr Ok your situation makes more sense now. I wasn’t sure if you were exaggerating the lack of options, or forgetting what you might have available, etc. I agree tactile wake up versus sound can be nice. I’ve heard of some implementations where an alarm will try to optimize when to wake you based on how it’s thinking if your sleep cycle; that is, you tell it to wake you between 7:00-7:30 but no later and if it thinks 7:14 is the best time it will do that.

As for if or when Suunto might do things, I’d say often things like this are more a question of priority than of complexity. A team has multiple features that they want to implement but need to decide on what to do first. It’s not always the simplest things that get done first.

Yes they’ve probably have tons of requests like this.
Will wait and cross fingers it is not low in their todo list 😉

Same here. I was Garmin for years, switched to Suunto last Xmas, and very surprised about this minimalistic (actually not usable) alarm clock feature on a…. smart watch.

                              Hello,

Could you please confirm whether this feature is planned for the next firmware release? Ocean users have been requesting this functionality since the watch was first launched.

Specifically, the ability to select weekends only—or ideally to set alarms for specific days, such as two or three times per week—would be extremely valuable for many users.

We hope the development team will consider this request for an upcoming update. Thank you as well for all the work that has gone into improving the product.

@aquanaut this does not apply to Ocean exclusively.
Cannot be more specific than I have been above…

Wow, this was a surprise to discover, after migrating from Coros and Garmin(previously to Coros). The statement that this is sportwatch is not actually good: YES this is sportwatch, but I want to be woken up by it silently (without waking up the whole family with sounds) at 6:30 on SOME weekdays and at 7:30 - when I have no workout from the morning. So this is not some “smartwatch” function, it’s really thing needed to properly plan my sport activities. Hope we will get this improvement.

@Dima-Pursanov I am wondering how is the current way of how alarms work waking up your whole family. Yes, you cannot set specific days, but I have multiple alarms already saved and enable / disable them depending on which day I am using them, let’s say as a workaround.

@OutdoorMan by waking up the whole family I meant alarm clock from phone 😉 My personal alarms should be silent and by specific days. Sure you can turn them on and off, but I sometimes forget to order lunch for the next day at work, so I’m afraid sometimes I’ll miss some alarms because of such human factors 🙂 Hope we will really get such improvement!
