      Hello,

I mostly do hiking for photography, and saving POI-s when finding interesting location to photograph, helps me to have more information for the future, so I can get back to those locations when the light is better.

So, is there any quick option to save the current GPS location as a POI, like I did on my old Suunto Traverse, with just a long press on a button, and the location was saved as a POI.
On the Vertical, you need to go to Map, try to push down button to get the menu, select Your Location from the menu, and save from there, but this is annoying to do.

I just don’t understand why Suunto is not using their past experience to create better watches, with simple functionalities. Why they try to complicate simple things that just work.

@ionparvan The Vertical is a watch for a different audience than the Traverse and this feature is implemented differently because of that. The POIs will sync to the Suunto App as well and you can use the app to find past locations.

@Brad_Olwin Well, I expected Vertical to be also an outdoor watch, for people that spend time in the outdoor, doing different activities.

@ionparvan I see the Vertical as the S9 upgrade, which was the Ambit upgrade. I am not sure if Suunto will produce a watch to upgrade the Traverse, which seems more geared toward hunting, and the photography that you engage in.

@Brad_Olwin said in Save current GPS location:

              Ambit upgrade.

I used this exact functionality on my A3P. My long press shortcut from the time screen was to get into the location saving menu. I frequently need this for rapidly saving locations when scouting new areas to put climbs up on and something that’s quick and on my hand works well. A3P with the shortcut was perfect. I’m not sure if this is doable in the new upcoming firmware for the 9PP

Even a quick one/long press to view current coordinates would be welcome.

My current workflow on the 9PP requires 5 clicks to save my location:

@ionparvan @Umer-Javed Thanks for the idea, I should have thought of this. The update will be coming soon for the 9PP.
Use the Customization to Pin the Map on the Vertical, if not recording an exercise this will allow quick access to POIs
On the 9PP you will be able to pin the Compass as the pinned Widget, this will also allow quick access to location and POI.

Update for 9PP should be soonish.
