Well, I tried the Race.. and I think I’m selling the Vertical

@i5boi I have a Vertical and it is totally fine

I am curious about the race. I want the beautiful screen and better sleep analysis, as well as the extra “wheel”( What’s the correct English word for this?) The race offer.
But the Vertical just have to good batterylife. That’s by far the best thing with the Vertical. It’s amazing!

@Iggge English first language speaker here! I think rotating bezel would be correct. Bit not a hundred percent sure and know exactly what you mean
Love my Vertical and sticking with it ️

@Iggge The SR has very good battery life and the SV has insane battery life

@isazi . Idea for Suunto. A clean solution for not mounting the Race on the handlebar is to have the possibility of broadcasting the data to the phone, as Coros did in their last update. This seems in fact very interesting for both the SR and the SV.
So you could have the Race on your wrist and the phone as a cycling computer on the handlebar.
I have found this thread because yesterday I was looking at the Race and as far as I like my SV Ti a lot, the Race has better firmware for now, with some fixes the SV has not yet.
I also like the idea of the wheel and despite I didn’t want the Amoled panel, after seeing It, It really looks incredible . The battery is also enough for a 100 Miller. So I’m thinking in buying an SR Ti .
But I have read the SV’s gnss accuracy it’s a bit better, just a bit (SR’s accuracy is very good too but the the reviews seem to say that SV’s one seems a bit better)

@dreamer_ I would actually like that, Suunto implemented the voice notifications via the phone last year, so the transmission of some data from the watch to the phone via Bluetooth is possible.
-
@dreamer_ possibly this is a good suggestion for an S+ app. Get watch HR data and send it via BT to other device (mimic a HR belt).
No idea if the feature set of S+ BT can do this… @Raimo-Järvi ? -
@Egika I do remember with SA3 and movesount there was the possibility to mirror watch data to the app while training…

@wmichi said in Well, I tried the Race.. and I think I’m selling the Vertical:
@Sezer-Yiğit It’s the same for daily use and sport activities: If you don’t raise your wrist, the screen is in a dimmed state (always on mode enabled) or completely off when always on mode is off. In the dimmed state it’s difficult to read. But for sports like running this is not a problem, because you raise your wrist anyway when you look at the watch.
I was going to buy the Race after seeing the Amoled screen but re-reading your posts, I think your experience is the best advice about why to stick with Vertical. I think the SV it’s the best watch of the market at this moment.
In my case I bike and swim, but mostly run long distances. The SR is fine for even a 100 miler race but I think that the Race is specially good when you are only running.
Many people say that Amoled technology is here to let die MIP but I’m not that sure. That wrist gesture is not only to save battery but to prevent Amoled panels from burning in a short time. And there’s the thing that MIP is better in many situations when multisport or direct sunlight or even when Amoled can be dangeours because of the wrist gesture.
In the other hand the software of the SV still needs some fixes that the SR seems to have (sleep, naps, step counter). And both need at least the fixes about the multiple sensors of the same type, the wake up alarms for weekdays or improve the TBT notifications.
