@Brad_Olwin said in Upgrade from S7 to S9?: @lexterm77 Except QuantifiedSelf is free and provides most of what MC used to. Yes, for S series. A3P data that syncs to SA is crippled and then it goes to QS, my distance, heart rate, ascend, descent lap data is blank. Power is non existent and no built in epoc graph for endurance pacing analysis. Epoc would need licensing from FB, and Ambit power data would need to be included from SA side. Maybe it is possible to import from stryd and merged?

@optics-field-test I agree, that the resources are a good instrument to measure your all day stress and exhaustion levels. I was really amazed when I first heard about it, since it could measure effects I only knew before from what I learned about the relation of yin and yang in traditional chinese medicine

@Luís-Pinto said in How to use QZSS on S9B: @Takeshi-Kakeda QZSS is integrated on Navstar system. You don’t have to do anything to use regional Japan system. It means that if you use Navstar alone (GPS) is nav+QZSS, if you use nav+gal you real use in Japan Nav+QZSS+Gal. Thank you for your detailed comment. I have grasped what QZSS is. Ok, I’ll try gpstest to know how the system does .

@mdzott I also agree with you both in that the data in SA is correct. But Suunto must know that Strava is not developing for them and in fact due to market share would be more likely to develop for Garmin etc just due to number of devices connecting to Strava. Therefore understanding much of the market uses Strava as an end service, Suunto could be proactive and ensure that their run counts looked correct both in SA and Strava by adjusting how it transpired in how the file was written. A hard sell since its more work for very little tangible payoff so I understand why it is the way it is today…just noting the full scope of the problem.

How much cooler does this look compared to the original. I haven’t tried the blue one yet, but it’s just refreshing to see some new color. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yep, saw that, so well, with this watch, due to the 3m threshold, Suunto Baro 9 doesn’t count those ascents. I wrote to support@suunto.com about this, and also I’m gonna get a Fenix 5 fit file to compare. Thanks again buddy.

@surfboomerang it’s not so easy as it is dependent on the lights around us. But you’re right, I start here with my comparison pics: 100% backlight and no backlight. Maybe this helps @Dead-Mailbox ? I am very happy with the readability of my S9B’s screen [image: 1623299521821-pxl_20210610_042925858.jpg] [image: 1623299528640-pxl_20210610_042941059.jpg]

@Mff73 all new users need to go through our approval to post, and if we think it’s just generated content it gets deleted. Something may still go through, but the amount of spam on th forum has gone way down since we started this.

@wmichi it might depend on the sensor. I used to use the Suunto HR belt and now I use the Wahoo HR and cadence sensors, and I find that if I start the exercise, even with the sensors not ready, eventually (after 20-30 s), they show up. This might be because some sensors stay “visible” for BT connection only for a limited time (30 - 60 s), and if they are not connected they stop being visible.

@freeheeler thank you. I think this is where I was going wrong although I’m assuming absolute pressure is at sea level, which is where I was for the week. Now I am back at home it makes more sense for the readings to be out by 8-9 hPa given my altitude.

@Stefan-Kersting well it is hard to tell zoom level just from screenshoot and url link doesn’t work. But it looks that it is near the path, i don’t know what speed you was walking / running. But usually while hiking I get much worse results with S5. But yes it has strange “regular” shape. But it can be just random. It is just my opinion (and i am no expert on GPS) but I think that if it was jamming, path wouldn’t be so accurate.
