@brucey09 as Isazi wrote, starting an activity is not part of the customization. A short press on the top button will always start the previous activity type. This cannot be changed. Buttom button cannot be assigned to any sport mode. This has not changed with any update so far. What you possibly mean is pressing and holding the upper button during an ongoing activity. This will allow to change to a different sport (multisport) and list the most recently used activities.

Before the update in July, it registered too many steps. But now it registers too few! When I get up from the couch and go to the kitchen and back, it doesn’t register any steps. Please adjust the settings again!

@Shayamoya you’ve set a custom profile and it now sticks as default. You have to go to battery mode, set it to custom and while in custom settings, set it identical to how performance is set and save as custom and use it. Only then will it reset to performance as default for the next workout.
  • Once again, S9PP suddenly stops whereas remaining battery was 44% percent

@isazi thanks. This is my assumption too. Sometimes it even shutdown while charging on the slot ! I’ve sent it to the support center in Prague…let’s see.

@renton82 It’s also very important that during the “first” run when the watch doesn’t have any past VO2 max data to use as a base that GPS is never lost. So no tunnels, waiting enough before the start that GPS is solidly locked (if you start immediately after it’s found, it coudl be lost for a few seconds afterwards, and that might compromise VO2 max when there’s no data behind), etc.

@Oyibo Which notifications are problematic? What iOS are you running?

Same problem to me today with my S9P. It has rebooted during activity, activity was partially saved. First time in 13 months using S9P. Never happened before with Spartans (Trainer and Ultra) nor S9B.

@siaoinspired maybe it is designed like that to prevent a mess? I’ve once had autolaps and S+ climb active and got confused by the lap notifications. the note says if it’s an autolap, but I would even go one step further than Suunto and force to deactivate autolaps in case any app is active that creates laps, too.

@Simon I know one of SA syncs I appreciate is updating ‘optimizing gps performance’ which saves time when I get to my destination to run or start up for a ride. I’ve had Garmin’s and Polars that take about the same amount of time if you select sync. I guess for me 20 seconds is ok and I usually do it in the mornings in the background - I may not be in as much of a hurry to work out as you lol.

@Mff73 agree, nothing to do with GPS, most certainly environmental: snow blocking the baro sensor, strong wind, gloves or other barrier blocking the baro sensor, etc. I did many mountaineering activities in the Alps with S9P and S9PP without this happening, so it is not because of the sport mode.

@Aleksandr You can record with both app and watch, but then you will need external tools to mix data altogether. And, it is not that easy and perfect.

@Dušan-Ković said in Elevation data and measurement: @Likarnik I know, but it would be nice not to overestimate, at least to be close enough Many time discussed : basically the elevation estimation mainly depend on the map raster used and its resolution, combined with the program that uses it (komoot, SA…) For instance in France when I want a good estimation of elevation I will use the “ign” rasters that are the best to me. But there are always differences whith final mesurement. Your S9PP is more precise for elevation mesurement than most public rasters.
