@Christophe-Roos I can confirm your observation: I have a Suunto watch and when it ran out of battery once, I thought I use the Smart Sensor belt on its own, with the app (this is possible with the Polar belt and the Polar Beat app). The app offers to record an exercise, but one cannot couple sensors to the app. You definitely need a Suunto watch between the app and the Smart Sensor.

@vinc14 Maybe because they have decided it according to market and default size for almost everyone is M. If not, they probably would need inventory for something they might not sold. Just guessing.

@aamado said in Using Suunto heart rate belt for scuba diving: Hello Everyone, Can the Suunto heart rate belt monitor be used for scuba diving? I’m thinking that, when diving in cold waters, I won’t be able to use the HR sensor from the watch (not even sure if it works underwater!), so using the chest belt for HR might be an option. Maybe better with dry suit to avoid getting wet but not sure if pressure can damage or even break the sensor which isn’t something pleasant to happen during a dive! Any thoughts on this topic? Thanks, Antonio Interesting question. I have never dived with a heart rate monitor but I swim a lot with OWS and in the pool with a heart rate monitor. I think it can be done but only with the Suunto Heart Rate Belt because Bluetooth does not work underwater. The Suunto sensor has its own internal memory and can work independently with the watch after starting the activity. After finishing, the data is automatically transferred to the watch. If you want to dive with Suunto “OCEAN”, I don’t know because I don’t know this model. The only limitation is depth. According to the manufacturer, the water resistance is up to 30 meters.

@Mattg576 I wear a Salomon rest as well with no issues. I make sure the straps are not moving the sensor while running. There is some latitude on the chest where the sensor can record.
