New software update for S9P-S9B-S9-S5P-S5 and S3 devices 2.20.28

In my case it’s not moving to step 2 at all, neither after the time is up from step 1 or by pressing the lap button which is enabled in TP, will recreate the workout, but definitely something I am missing or as you guys said, minor glitch somewhere.

Hi!
can someone update the new firmware (S9 non baro) to the firmware list post in order to force it on the watch.
Thanks in advance!

Hey.
Today I wanted to test Structural workout.
I created new one with TP. It was synchronized with the suunto app and the watch itself (s9p) .
I started my run (saw Structural workout name at the begin ) … and i saw new watch face with SW run.
I created SW (8km warm-up / 6x 100m/100m / 3km cooling down) . After ~ 4km i wanted to turn on backlight (middle button / settings/ backlight on ) … after that my SW watch face disappeard . I was hope that maybe after warm-up something could changed but it looks like SW crashed
First impression - not cool
Should I send a logs from the app ?
s9p 2.20.28 / iOS 2.12.0 (9617) -
@greku I haven’t experienced a crash, but the watch has become more laggy; especially when you activate intervals. I suspect this will get better over time. I agree with DC Rainmakers assessment that this is a really good first try. Not perfect, but it’ll get better.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Is some kind “Workout Builder” is planned to be implemented in Suunto App directly. It would be the best solution if someone do not want to create account on 3rd party services like TP, Intervals.icu or Nolio. -

The current idea is to allow third parties to push the workouts. Simple intervals and targets can be configured on the watch.

It’s better to support creating a structured workout in SA in the future.

Just in case this helps anyone, above issue got resolved by doing the 12 seconds soft reset on my S9P, recreating the workout in TP didn’t help so appears to be an issue with the watch somehow that the reset fixed. Will report in case I run into this situation again

It’s better to support creating a structured workout in SA in the future.
From the experience of the past developments I think this is not so unlikely.
- We first have got Klimat partner service -> then native temp, wind & weather icon
- We have got turn by turn navigation from Komoot -> then natively in the app
I guess that since the framework is now there, the next step could well be an in-app workout builder.
Lets see.
-
@egika a mobile version of structured workouts builder would be very helpful! Right now using intervals.icu on the phone is a pain, and TP app doesn’t even have this feature.
-
@herlas as usual, if you find a way to reproduce a bug, create a new post in the forum and describe it.

I read the upvote by @pavel-samokha as at least not as a rejection

@egika
in-app workout builder and in general setting everything up for the watch from SA makes totally sense to me.
I also mean personal information, like gender, height and weight etc. the use case where it would be more beneficial to do adjustments in the watch only are very rare IMHO.
if everything is setup from SA it is always clear where to adjustedit: maybe even watch screens?! what do you think?

It would also be worth mentioning that:
3) The activity video creation from Relive.cc -> is also included in App.
as an additional hint to support your guess -
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos I spoke to Nolio about this and they have already made the necessary changes. The manual laps are now working and the Nolio screen shows the necessary information. The only thing left to do is to finalize the lap number on the summary and above all it should be displayed bigger (because it is very complicated to see during a split session…) but that’s for Suunto to do but I’m not sure it will be done as quickly as Nolio.
I’m not sure if it’s as fast as Nolio. I’d like to see the sleep data from Suunto on Nolio. They can do it but it is up to you to give them this information. -
@frederick-rochette @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Having the lap numbers is not possible with Suunto… with garmin it works
-
@brad_olwin I didn’t fully appreciate how nice it is to not have to have structured workout in order for this to work. I am new to TP but I have a Wahoo ELMNT Bolt bike computer and today I tried syncing over just a simple elevation goal workout to Wahoo and it would not even sync over nor do they have the Target Elevation Gain as a data field that you can add to your pages. So its neat that Suunto who is really new to this integration game is already with their approach adding options that others like Wahoo who have had this for far longer still don’t have… Its nice and practical in real life for folks that don’t always want intervals but they have another goal that they would like to automatically become part of their scheduled activities.
-
@frederick-rochette I think this is possible from the creator if not, keep in mind things improve all the time now even wihtout a SW update
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos you’ve also mentioned, s+ apps from partners may be coming in the future without fw upgrade. Are you allowed to say, whether something like this is coming soon? Or is the focus from 3d parties right now shifted towards designing guides?
-
@dmytro your firmware already supports both.
