speculations and rumours about upcoming Suunto watches

@sartoric “and my “no spoiler” attitude”

I changed S9B for S9P and after some use I get used to the smaller screen but also to the confortability of the S9 Peak and now S9B and S9P cover my needs so I don’t imagine what new feature would drive me to change to new watch model.
If the new watch is bigger than S9P (similar to S9B) probably will be less confortable and now I’m very used to S9P size (S9P is my “all day” watch). If the new watch is similar in size to S9P and 9PP I don’t find any reason to changeWaiting for specifications…

Hello all!!
I only ask for a little respect with the leaks or else I will delete the post… a lot of work and a lot of enthusiasm from a lot of people who are playing behind this… so please wait for official news and respect the work of so many people.
Have a nice day!!
First of all thanks for your awesome work on the community and Suunto team on it.
I understand all the work it involves on a launching (worked on it also), but honestly I think Suunto could really profit of that. It is annoying for sure for those who worked on it, but on my side it annoys more to see posts deleted everywhere (facebook, Reddit, Suunto forum). If there were more leaks it could create even more envy/ desire to wait for the watch.But it’s ok. As speculation on one side I think it could be a big mark for Suunto (otherwise they would keep the s9 naming).
Really hope to see more integration with Suunto coach , with suggested workouts (like garmin) based on Suunto coach, and for sure some kind of mapping (don’t need to have all continents on the watch, but a big zone, maybe downloaded from the app ).
Also that the annoying resources “bug” and sleep times get better.
Keep the good work

Does anyone remember how long it took between the first leaks of the S9 and the official release? It was something like 2 weeks, right?
Anyway, can’t wait to see what’s coming next. -

Let’s see. -
@André-Faria I guess it’s going to be like s9p: mid-may announcement and mid-june pre-orders ship. If i recall correctly.
-
@DMytro that would be odd if the product is already at some retailers.
-
@DMytro Zegama is on May 14 if I remember well so, it would be a good moment to show the new watch in the Golden Trail Series…

Since some retailers have stock I want to believe they will launch it mid may and ready to buy.
As I said in other thread , in my opinion a great strategy, for example on garmin side, the fr 965 was launched but they announce 3 weeks of waiting and almost no stock (at least in stores that sell to france) which is annoying. When there is a novelty most people want it asap. -
@DMytro some shops already have them in stock (and leaked it). This makes me believe that your assumption is wrong…at least I hope so
-
The sooner it’s released, the better, as I want to see the new S9PP fw, and I assume it won’t go public before the watch is official.

talking about leaks… I think there’s not so much glue left and I should soon avoid to take my watch to waters
-
@freeheeler Ouch! Lost seal?
-
@jjpaz
I don’t know for sure and I don’t recall the teardown pics I once saw, but I think the display is glued to the glass. maybe it remains water resistant? would be nice -
From the picture I was able to peek at, I understand that the new watch does not claim to be a replacement for my current s9p. I think the magic of the Suunto is gone in them, when you lack features for multisport, but you still buy the Suunto because it looks great.
I’m still hoping for better firmware for daily monitoring and more multisport capabilities. -
@STAS VARAZHBIT Hi. Im curious on your comment that the S9P ‘lacks features for multisport’. What is lacking? From my experience you can switch sport modes to anything you want, or you have triathlon mode etc. Sorry if Im missing something in your comment.

What happened to the spring buzz?
-
@dulko79 we drank it all
-
@Stas-Varazhbit everyone has their own preferences. Personally, I would never buy a watch which looks ugly in my opinion, no matter how many features it has. Yes, I wish Suunto had more polished daily metrics but these watches are good-looking and really shine once you’ve started an activity
Cheers.

@rooldaa Lol so you’ll spend $300-500 on a watch based only on how it looks. Okie dokey.
