@altcmd It’s also a bigger watch. Compared to the S9B it is roughly the same weight

@twekkel I think this should be possible if it is in watch mode. I don’t know why a watch should draw a lot of power in that mode, but I don’t know the details.

@surfboomerang Point taken but looking at Coros watches, they are quite light relative to the Garmin F7. I think the F7 is a tad bit lighter. Not a weight weenie but just not a fan of wearing heavy watches.

@altcmd Same for me. Lighter = better, but only if does not compromise the robustness of the watch (or has a huge price tag). Last thing you want is cracked cases, scratched glass, broken straps etc just because of some weight saving.

@altcmd mine 7x solar is 89g, i wear it overnight without feeling it. So this 86 wont be any problem for me. Btw 7x solar is on sale if anybody is interested:)

@surfboomerang Ofcourse, hence Suunto instead of a plastic, overpriced Garmin 965.

@vlado Different people, different tolerances. My tolerance is 65-70 hence felt 9PP was perfect but was too small in size for my above-average wrists. Either way, best way to figure it would would be to get both and choose one.

So curious how people say something is over price by a spec.
Hence why maybe Suunto is making a good move speaking about precision and materials, maybe they understood their client type values much more it, than for example other features.

Super beautiful, voice feedback and what is seems to be a light sensor. Very interesting. Curious for the full presentation and some debrief of technical choices.

If voice feedback is via siunto app, I wonder what other watches may get it. I also wonder in what situations voice feedback is used. Just navigation or smth else as well.

@André-Faria The titanium version looks really beautiful. 74 g for my taste is awesome but I still think that they should offer at least two sizes of the same watch. So one can pick up the size that best suits them.

This is only speculation but I believe Suunto is doing this “little by little”, they already have the s9pp with smaller size, which from the reviews is a good watch . So now they launch one with new features, see the acceptance of the market, see how features perform on big scale and have money flowing in to finance updating the s9pp.
                          Pure speculation here.

Like others I am curious on the implementation of the maps and features that they can get out of it. For me, on garmin, for me the mapping is valuable to make circular routes on the go without phone and back home without phone. To follow a trace it’s better but it is not world changing (again I just use it for simple hikes).

@André-Faria My experience with Garmins have been that their watches are very susceptible to scratches. I had the 945 and 955 and they scratched pretty easily. For a watch that costs over €500, this is quite unacceptable, I feel. I like to focus on the doing part, but more importantly, I want things to last. In today’s world, we cannot take a use-and-throw mentality to things, nor can be afford to keep replacing our tools annually (looking at you, Apple!). F7 had a weird display that would make it look cloudy. So yes, if Suunto offers better durability, materials and above all, made in Finland (factory 10k from where I live), then I would choose this any day. I know feature-wise Suunto is ages behind Garmin, but Garmin is effectively ticking boxes for features that to me are half-baked. Your mileage may vary and you may very well have had a very good experience with Garmin devices, but not for me and hence, Suunto is an easy choice. Glad to see the app has now evolved, so we are getting there.

Totally agree on the sustainability part. I am not hardcore sports guy, the watch is for some runs, light hikes and tracking.

Most suuntos are for me on the league of usage of fenix line not forerunner (durability/materials).

Although durability plays heavy on decision, having features that make me use my watch more also plays. No company or product is perfect . I had s9p ti that just scratched using it at home, and I was not the only one. What I meant to say is just because of a “feature” one brand is heaven and other is hell.
But…I am also very curious on this new watch!

So based on the French retailer and the music section: what does 3200 MO means? 3200 songs?

@Jugger Guess you are right. It might be Mb. Except if this is music only reserved memory its a bit low for full maps support.
