Strava Live Segments
-
@v-sacre give it some more time, and the refreshing the guides list in the app before deleting the segments, after deleting them, and then again after adding them back is important.
-
@isazi I unstarred all my segments, refreshed S+ apps forth and back, starred segments, refreshed S+ apps again but no Strava Segements S+ app appears in the Suunto App S+ App section
-
@trailcafe I don’t have Strava premium so cannot test.
-
@trailcafe said in Strava Live Segments:

You mean the S+ guides section right, not the app? Segments are implemented as guides, not apps, so you cannot find them there.
-
@isazi oh ok, my fault. Thank you.
-
@isazi
After I followed all your advice, i can’t add Strava Live Segment in my Suunto Guide’s.I can’t understand what is the problem.
Are you sure SLS is back to all ?
-
@isazi it worked properly for Cycling segments but nothing for Running segments.
Can you confirm it is two separate guides ? In my memory it is but I am not very sure about it.Any idea why I only see cycling segments ?
It is actually not them I want to have but running segments. For cycling, I use a garmin edge.
-
@v-sacre you should have both. I will report the issue, I am not even sure if Strava segments are already enabled for everyone as the other watches still need an update (June?).
-
@Mi_chael it should, can you also try to disconnect and then reconnect to Strava?
-
Yes, with no success.
-
@Mi_chael after reconnecting, repeat the process I described before. Thanks.

I just tried live segments and they work as promised. The only problem I have is that I can’t add new segments. It only shows the segments that I had starred before and it does not sync new segments at all. Any solution for this? I don’t want to delete all started segments just to try it because I don’t want to lose my starred segment list.
-
What is the “official” status of he live segments? I had read in several places that it was a “backend” issue that Suunto/Strava have to fix. I have disconnected/reconnected my Strava account multiple times with no luck in getting my live segments to show up/load. SV/iOS both on lates versions/code.
-
@larrybbaker status is that they have been released in production, both Suunto and Strava announced it publicly, even Ray mentioned it.
-
@isazi So any suggestions on getting it to work?
-
@larrybbaker have you tried this already?
first, try to add a new segment in Strava, and then go to Suunto App and refresh the guides. If this does not work, another trick that used to work in the past (cannot tell you if still works) was to go to Strava, delete all segments, go to Suunto App, refresh guides, go back to Strava, add segments, back to Suunto App, refresh again.

BTW the official support page from Strava:

They do work. Initially, there was a problem that required unlinking SA and Strava, potentially re-installing SA (and a few other steps). But once it started working, it does sync additional segments (or drops the ones that you un-starred in Strava).
One big gotcha is that Strava will not let you sync any segments that have a negative gradient (even minimally negative) and there is no feedback on that (you keep adding segments and only some of them come across). But this is a Strava issue (I guess, safety related). -
@isazi Thank you - yes I have connected/disconnected the SA and Strava, deleted all my segments and added a few back. Still not showing.
