      Yeah, I’ll try that.
I removed all the S+ apps as well. It’s clean. I don’t know, spent all day on this, tired already. 🙂

Edit: Ended up updating it to 2.20.28 and it looks it acquires GPS fine now without crashing. I’ll go out in a bit and check it out on a walk. Hope it doesn’t crash. Fingers crossed. 🙂

Good news, 6k of walking, no crashes, no issues, notifications on, GPS on all the time. I’ll stay on 2.20.28 for now. It seems to be stable, not affected by any bug. I guess 2.20.30 somehow is affected as well once you update to 2.23.24, going back didn’t work for me. Happy I got my watch back!

Look who’s the most exhausted. 🙂

I agree with @André-Faria it must be a defect that started most likely coincidentally at the same time when you updated to the latest firmware…

Glad you have your watch up and running. Test for a few more days and maybe try again to update

What’s so strange is although the fw that works now is really old, I have all the features that latest fw has.

I have a 9 Peak and yesterday afternoon all of a sudden I went to start an activity and it wouldn’t pick up GPS, if I started the activing anyways it would power off and go back to the start screen. Eventually it would just go into “restarting from a safe mode”. It did randomly work for a mountain bike ride in the evening but has gone back to the same crash/reboot cycle this morning.

The interesting part is my gf’s Suunto 5 this morning had the arrow with 4 dots on the screen this morning, plugged it in and restored it and same thing, keeps crashing.

Thennnnn, went and met up with some friends for a ride (2 with 9 baro, and 2 with 9 peaks) and they all said there watches are doing the same thing. We all updated with 2.23.20 when it rolled out, but very weird that it has happened to all of us in the same 24 hours period. I’ll try the hot fox and see if it fixes anything.

@PipDaPip I had the same with my peak. Looks like gnss issues. Not watch specific

When this problem can be fix?

Last Saturday 27/05/23 I got a hike. I selected the route for my navigation. In the middle of my hike, the route suddenly disappear and re-appear again after 10 to 15 minutes. It happened about 3 times. But the other data/recording such as Elevation, Ascent, Distance, Heart Rate etc still showing on my watch S9P.

@Nic-Puia My S9b keeps on crashing all the time. Tried at least 5 times to re-install. This Hotfix should be fixed!

I don’t know if you read my earlier post, I put 2.20.28 after factory reset and that seemed to be stable.
Last week I decided to give another try to 2.23.24 without factory reset it, just update to 2.20.28 as you would do on computer.
Really strange, successfully updated, no issues at all. First thing I tried was start an exercise and see if it acquires GPS and it did right away, and I was inside.
My advice is try to factory reset the watch, install 2.20.28 and then try to update to latest update.
Either something was changed in 2.23.24 lately or my watch just decided to work. Knock on wood, no issues since I updated it, and I remember I spent the whole day playing with all the fw versions which I ended up with 2.20.28.

@Nic-Puia If you decide to do Factory reset, make notes (or screen shots) of the custom sport modes. That way you won’t need to reinvent what you did so far. Also, after the reset, remember to set up all personal details (max HR, HR zones etc.). Guess how I know?

@MdzOtt this is why I am calling for backup feature for some time now. I also learnt it in hard way 🙂

Maybe I missed it but is the excessive battery drain with S+ apps resolved in this hotfix?
