      @Łukasz-Szmigiel I don’t know mate…. If external apps (plugins or Suunto plus apps as we call ‘em) crash your core than the problem is in the core SW rather that the apps. As I said, first I thought it was the laps of the TP guide (intervals) but this was not the case twice, so it’s not. I would also appreciate if there was a statement: hey do not use 2 apps or something else so I would know how to set the watch. All they do is they ask a logs from me (support) and then tell me the logs are not good and so on… I had better support experience with literally every other company. First time I have to contact the company I loved and I face the harsh reality others have been pointing out and I was telling them: hay it cannot be that bad! (I am really sorry and ask for apologies from these people). Today I might’ ve sounded harsh and not as I usually do, but there was a lot of fun made out of me and my Suunto and I had no arguments to say anything. A pity really cause I invested quite a lot in the whole ecosystem (Karoo, straps and years of persuading others to get Suunto). Well I guess I’ll have to wait for a better looking AW Ultra or some Forerunner at the end ;(

      It won’t solve your problem, but if you think the watch is not up to standards send it back, get your money back and enjoy the rest of kit you have that will still work with either your previous watches or other brand. Life is to short to be annoyed with something you paid for.
      Even with logs and stuff, any brand can’t solve this “from one day to the other”, specially because they need to test it to make sure it won’t happen again. (I am not trying to defend Suunto on this). Also companies are not perfect…

      The rest is just your expectation vs reality. Enjoy outdoors.

        @André-Faria I think that was the the first hot release aimed at. Since at some point I was not sending logs cause the hot release is around the corner solving the crashes. I did not complain at all the first 4 times and also defended Suunto when others experienced crashes. But how can I stay positive when I cannot rely on something that should be robust and do the thing it’s supposed to do and costs this much? Will you be cool if while you talk your mobile crashes 40% of the time so you lose maybe important calls or whatever?! ‘Get your money back’: can you please tell me how can I communicate this to Suunto’s support without involving lawyers and what not (cause I’ve tried believe me). I will continue using the Baro until it’s done and then bye, I have no problem to switch to other brand but word of mouth spreads quite a lot in the training communities (and nowadays social cycles) so at the end it will not be me who suffers most.

          I can recommend to create a repair request.
          Your watch is clearly within warranty and I think the last thing Suunto wants is unhappy customers.

          Please describe the crashes as good as possible, the amount, frequency etc and I don’t think they will reject your request.

          I can’t say what they will do, because I’m not customer service. But what I can say by own experience: they’re fast and one of the best services I’ve ever experienced.

          Hope you become happy in a couple of days 🙂 ✊

              Wasn’t aware you tried already to get your money back. Honestly don’t know how can I help. Like others said, warranty, see if it changes something. If not guess maybe someone from Suunto on the forum
              can give a little push for a refund.
              Regarding worth of mouth, it’s the company’s job to take care of it with their actions, not you. You should be enjoying what you paid for.

                @Hristijan-Petreski My Vertical is still in drawer. I got buyer’s remorse and regret not having returned it (my own fault, though). 😆 At least, I didn’t pay full price (company discount).

                  I’d like to just say a quick couple of things. I was pumped when the rumours of a new Suunto watch started, and when the SV finally came to fruition I literally had to have one. The initial reviews generally were pretty positive and I don’t recall reading about any crashes, bad GPS, screen freezes, maps not working etc etc. So I ordered one, used it heavily and had no issues; I loved my old S9B and was half expecting this new outlier not to knock it of its’ pedestal, however it did and I could honestly say I’d never owned a better GPS watch

                  But while I love this forum I felt like I needed to step away for a little while as every time I logged in there would be new complaints, more crashes and issues that couldn’t be fixed with soft resets and reboots. I acknowledge these things are happening and that they are frustrating, but it feels like they’ve taken the shine off a watch that I got so excited over. What was previously viewed as one of the best watches on the market especially with regards to ultras and general adventuring is now ‘a pile of overpriced junk’ to many. FWIW I’m unsure as to whether this is now the general perception of the SV or if that’s confined to the pages and posts of this forum? Either way it feels like a massive fall from grace for Suunto whom no doubt have been working tirelessly for years to bring us this. I don’t know what’s going on, to me it feels like a good portion of the units produced have been faulty in some way and I’m one of the lucky ones to get a flawless piece of gear that I feel like I can rely on to do what I need it to

                  Anyhow, I hope the SV owners with problems get resolutions and I guess for me I’m going to try to search for the threads that don’t make me question what I put down a lot of hard earned money for!

                    Mine has been flawless as well in terms of crashes and map issues and battery issues and the other major issues that seem to pop up here.

                    I have issues with sleep and V02max and other small bit and pieces but the overall function of the watch itself is excellent

                        This whole thread make me thing that right way of solving issues in this watch looks like this:

                        try {
                        … put all your code here
                        } catch (e) {
                        reboot();
                        }

                        😀 😀 😀

                          @MiniForklift I’m so happy with my SV, awesome piece of work, beautiful, very reliable.
                          I perfectly understand what you mean with your post.
                          Bugs issues and crashes exists (even if I didn’t had any reboot to do myself) , but probably related to few use cases.
                          Negative comments here don’t reflect reality, people express more their disappointment than their joy !
                          Hope that bugs and issues will be solved for those who experiment them…

                                Same for we, best adventure companion, maps are opening the wild in real time.

                                Had only one activity reboot, so I understand the feeling for those who experience it more often, if not detected soon enough, and had one map missing, but just when doing initial out of the box tests, soft reset solved it.

                                  I just don’t get it why suunto doesn’t allow user do delete logbook manually? Lately we have a lot of posts of long activities that can not be synced because of this…

                                    How deleting manually the logbook should change something?
                                    Theorically, watch is deleting itself just what should be needed to free memory for next savings. Assuming that previous activities were synced, they are not lost, and having deleted the logbook manually will not give more memory for the very last one.
                                    “” responsability"" on user, then, to sync it’s latest big activity soon enough before auto-erasing.
                                    🤔

                                      @Mff73 I suspect that ‘big’ activities are just partially saved to watch if they do not have graphs. Why just partially? Because ‘smart’ algo did not free up (enough) space… Also stuck on saving screen problem, remember? Theoretically it works, unless it doesn’t 🙂 I would still leave as it is, just add manual erase option. Of course this is only a speculation, we don’t know if this is really the problem, but it looks like it. When I program such things (automatic tasks for example) I always add a button for user to manually run it, even if it is used maybe once a year or so. You never know when some bug will happen. Personally I would erase logbook before big race (100k, 100miles), otherwise I would leave ‘smart’ algo to do its thing.

                                            I have been using my Vertical s/s for 10 days and I am pretty disappointed if I’m honest. I purchased the non solar version as I preferred the black as opposed to grey look from the photo’s. Additionally, I didn’t feel as though the solar would benefit me much more than a bit of a gimmick. Additionally, I purchased a custom, choosing a fabric strap, which also meant that returning was not an option unfortunately.

                                            Initial impressions were not great, I wasn’t blown away by the overall feel, indeed, I was disappointed by the feel of the strap (nylon) and have since set about trying to find a strap similar to my Suunto Alpha Core, which in my opinion, is a far superior strap. The other main thing that disappointed from it’s appearance and fee was the two markings at the top and bottom buttons, I can not believe that these have no luminous coating.

                                            Moving on, I started to feel let down when I realized that I could not change the Altitude graph on the watch face to the barometer, I mean really…

                                            Similarly, there is no button lock in normal/standby mode, this is such a basic addition and really should be considered. I spend too much time having to get back to the home screen from accidental button presses during normal day activities.

                                            I’ve had trouble synchronizing with Apple Health, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t and to make things worse, as it time stamps steps and heart rate at 10 minute intervals, it means step counts for example are counted in addition to iPhone steps for example. This was not the case with my Garmin Fenix 6 or my Apple watch (I understand that prioritizing the device affects these things in Apple Heal settings but it makes not difference here).

                                            I am unable to choose which phone notifications are allowed, something I think the Garmin allows, but as I do not use such features, it’s not a major problem.

                                            Not able to have more than one alarm is a bit of a pain and not being able to customise the units is a bit off. For example, I like to read temperature in degC but see my distance etc in miles, not an issue with other devices.

                                            The altitude reading is way off, compared to other devices I use, including my Suunto Alpha Core. the HR is a bit of a hit and miss, sometimes reading extremely high for no reason. Step counts are a joke. Sleep does not count outwith the time set for sleep in the device, unlike other devices.

                                            I’ve not bothered too much with the activity side of things given my disappointment with other aspects of the watch.

                                            With no gps activities, apart from a few minutes testing, notifications off and opening the app daily to synchronize, I am finding batter has lasted the 10 days and will probably make it to 2 weeks, but cant see it lasting any longer than that.

                                            All in all, I will likely swap back to my Suunto Alpha Core for daily wearing and continue to wear my Garmin Fenix 6 for activities.

                                            I so wanted this to be everything the Core was, but with the “smart” things working well in a Suunto watch.
