When will we get new firmware from Suunto?
-
@nseslija That’s great, you don’t have to. The pressure never came from me. I even gave you an up vote.
-
@wmichi hey thanks! Just downloaded and using the beta version. But I am unable to locate the HRV portion. Where is this new feature located in the app?
-
@leafs93 Press and hold to add the widget.
-
Heh, didn’t even know that I can edit those 🫣
-
@Lechamoix sorry to sound abit dumb here. Press and hold which part of the app?
-
@leafs93 main page and At the top of the widgets.
-
@leafs93 I went into the widget page and all I get is a blank page with nothing in it. Hmmm… something not right for my beta version ?
-
@leafs93 ok I finally got it! Thank you
-
I am not sure if we’re allowed to discuss beta software here, but… do you actually get the HRV data? I have added the widget, but it’s empty (as in above screenshot). Or I guess it’s not fully functional yet?
-
@tomasbartko not yet functional for mine .
-
@leafs93 it’s normal, it’s a function that will be available later or is currently being tested. the widget can also disappear at another update.
-
I guess it is only available for Ios in Beta…

You are free to discuss this! The HRV will take some time to register and get a baseline, you need to wear the watch to sleep. There have been discussions regarding how useful this measurement is. When I had a Garmin watch my training was typically unproductive as I do more long and slower runs, the watch was always telling me I was low in anaerobic training. Since I block train and do intervals at the beginning of my season I found most of the training metrics for the Epix 2 useless. I prefer the Suunto approach as I have used TrainingPeaks for many years; TP provides better metrics for long runs. I pay more attention to ATL,CTL and TSS than I will to an HRV score. I will not let the latter dissuade me from a Peak block of training as I have now for an upcoming race.
-
@Brad_Olwin does that mean the Hrv widget is functional, just that I have not worn in long enough for sleep to get a baseline? If so, then perhaps I may get some reading after a few more days or weeks? Thanks
-
@leafs93 For the moment, it’s implemented in the beta version of the application. But maybe the most important thing is missing? Implementing HRV in the watch. So it’s normal that there’s currently nothing.
-
@Lechamoix I would imagine the Watch can detect HRV from our HR overnight . This is something Polar has, and you can view your overnight HRV on their app in the morning. I am asking if this feature is already enabled on the beta version, just that I have not worn it long enough for the HRV data to be populated to the app.
-
@leafs93 Yes, yes, I understand, but if the HRV becomes official, there will be an update announcement
-
@leafs93 @Lechamoix The watch requires an update as well but clearly you can see this is coming. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
-
@Brad_Olwin thanks! Hope to see the update coming to the watch soon.
-
@Brad_Olwin we hope
