@Egika I got yesterday the new Race and the step counter seems much better than the algo on the Vertical. On the Race i have no recorded steps while brushing my teeths. The Vertical has counted around 400-500 steps haha.

Got the Race today 😀. First impressions:

The box is completly different as usual:

            IMG_1675.jpeg IMG_1677.jpeg IMG_1678.jpeg

Updating and installing maps worked perfectly and … maps showed up instantaneously after getting a valid GPS fix.

When hand is lowered the breadcrumptrail is still visible

            IMG_1689.jpeg

AMOLED display is very bright and high contrast
            IMG_1680.jpeg IMG_1681.jpeg

            Brightness set to Medium

@ChrisA do you think it is to bright in the evening? Or is it possible to adjust it so it is not to much at evening/ nights?

@helgonet12 here are two pics on lowest brightness inactive display in the dark (as good as my iphone gets it 🫣)

                    IMG_1693.jpeg IMG_1694.jpeg

                    And one with active display

                    IMG_1691.jpeg

I dint find them too bright, not brighter than other Amoleds like on the Apple watch. With do not disturb on, the display gets completely dark and only comes on when you press a button.

Here are some observations from my side, mainly in comparison with the previous watch which was Vertical:

GPS - as good as on Vertical
HR during run is better, no mora peaks where it goes to 200beats for no reason
Finaly option to clear all notifications
                          Better flashlight
Sleep tracking much better, really accurate
                          Scrolling much smoother
Steps count, more accurate, no steps while you are typing on pc, for example

These are just quick observations after three days use
Only thing that i dont like are these 22mm straps but those i will change for 24mm as i did on Vertical also

@vlado how do you change from 22mm to 24mm strap? Isn’t the width fixed, and can only use 22mm strap ?

@leafs93 take the pins from 22mm, put it inside 24mm and with razor remove the extra silicone so that the strap can go inside, works perfect.

                                @vlado & @ChrisA

Does the screen never turn totally “black” when it is inactive?

I think that could be disturbing to some people in the night?

@Stoke80 No, you can set the screen to turn off completely. I have it set that way.

@Highlands I charged to 100% on Sunday and today I have 67% battery, about 1 hour of activity every day. I wear them 24/7, always on display off, mobile notifications off… But we’ll see in time, it’s a new watch with a fresh battery.
