@marcrie what is headunit? gadget that receives sensor data and represents it?
is it possible to send information from headunit somewhere?

If the sensor is sending it’s data via Bluetooth, then once the app dev kit is released to the public, you can write your own S+ app for this 🥳

…and of course S+ need to run out of activities…

Let’s see if this will happen some time…

My son is type 1 diabetic and his system is medtronic sensor + pump. Pump is connected to smartphone via Bluetooth. And the only way to check sugar on the watch - receive usual application notification about high/low sugar

I don’t know anything about writing apps, but is this really a thing? I use a Freestyle Libre CGM to manage my diabetes, and if there was a way to get low glucose alarms on my watch even when not carrying my phone, that would be amazing.

I don’t think that this is possible. Freestyle Libre CGM is connected to the app and then app can send notifications (as part of usual notifications system) to the watch. Because signals from your sensor have some format and watch has zero idea about this format

@sashaklepikov Yeah, that seems right. Is it different with other systems? If there was a way to achieve this I would change CGM system right away.

@bobson unfortunately I think it works in the same manner for all sensors

@sashaklepikov she has the Dexcom G6 (Sensor), Accu-Check insight (pump) and the DBLG 1 (headunit). The headunit receive data and give the user the notification and alarms. There is an android system on the headunit which is able to communicate with some smartphones via Bluetooth, unfortunately not here Smartphone. Shouldn‘t it be possible to communicate with the watch via Bluetooth? I see my wife at lunch so I can ask what android is installed.

@Egika Thank you, I didn‘t know that everybody can write an s+ App and Marke it available to the community. Is there and manual or quick start guide how to do this?

@marcrie I wrote “once” without knowing if this is actually going to happen.
One of the developers recently asked here if people would be interested in this.
So I assume Suunto is considering to make it public.
Possibly many things under the hood need to be adapted before, and on IF it is going to happen…
But then you can write BT communication (if it is public to that extent then).

You see, a lot of IFs here…
