I have exactly the same problem. No longer can I swipe left. Please - what is the fix for this? I didn’t understand the reply ‘the new UI has changed this’.

There is no fix because it’s not a bug, this is how the user interface is now. It’s a feature, not a bug.

@taziden Sounds like a backward step. I can access one widget by swiping right, but no more, and nothing when you swipe left. Does one really have to go into the widget menu and scroll through them all to access the one you need?

@TimCooke777 you can remove / order the widgets that you get when scrolling up/down, so the only change is actually that it’s no longer left/right but up/down (and now you have an additional shortcut on top)

No, there is no backwards steps from Suunto, they just go for another direction.

And the same, Suunto will define your need, so if there is only one widget attached, then it means you need only one.

@TimCooke777 you can enable/disable all of them plus sort the widgets in the list according to your preference. Plus you have the pinned widget.
In my point of view this is a big advantage compared to the horizontal carousel before.

You are either trolling or did not get the concept that all the widgets are there (plus there are actually more than before all individually selectable).

But all widgets were also horizontally available in the previous version and you could change the order and decide which widgets to access. The only progress is that new ones have been added. Also I think it should be possible to pin more than one widget in horizontal access. I also don’t understand why criticising this modification is called “trolling” by many people. This is feedback from users who thought the previous idea was better. The fact that you like it does not mean that others do too. In my opinion, the previous version was more ergonomic, simply faster to use. I hope that at least the possibility of a second widget on the right side will be added. And let’s not forget another important aspect, for many it was probably the horizontal navigating through widgets that was the decisive factor in buying a new watch. How disappointed they must have been after the first update that changed this…

@Ars-Vitae it would be great to downgrade to the software before… Seems like more people want the old swiping to left and right back! So how to got the older firmware? In this forum Sometimes they are Posting software to download --> now you could do this please for all people wich wants the older design Back 👍

@Ars-Vitae it was called trolling because it was a comment made by the resident troll of this forum, the one and only.

@Brad_Olwin for a change I’m with @GiPFELKiND. Often it is mentioned on this form “you shouldn’t buy a watch for features is might get in the future, but what it currently has”. Now the problem with Suunto is that “current functionality” is kind of a volatile concept… every new release for the past year had some new features, but also also (regression) bugs. I also dislike the new UI also and would like to go back, also because the OHR would turn off again when I say so. Loosing HRV is holding me back… for the moment

                              Some older firmware:

@twekkel I understand and think if enough want changes in the UI set up a vote or a request and see if you can get back what you are missing.

Thanks for setting up the votes! It’s great proof of how difficult it is for companies to operate a change that most will like, while keeping everyone happy

For me, the consistency of the UI with the physical buttons is a fantastic feature. I don’t use the touch screen at all, and after some weeks with the new UI I’m riding again that wave of the “muscle memory” for my most used “workflows”. And I love it. So, I understand that if there’s no physical left button, there’s no left swipe. Could it be there? Sure… but I feel that this would break that consistency. Not judging the design choice by Suunto nor the convenience for some users of having that left swipe: that’s simply how I use my watch. 😅

@fv4500 The middle button is used to move horizontally. This was the same before, and it is the same now, to get to a single pinned widget. Scrolling across the display is faster and simply incomparably more convenient than the buttons, but it does not work in contact with water and a gloved hand. It is therefore important to keep the buttons fully functional in all conditions. This is how I understand the idea of the watch designers.
