    Hello,

    I’d like to be able to totally disable the touchscreen, during normal use and during activity.

    I’m clumsy with my hands, and ‘d like to use only the buttons.

    Thank you

    Yan

      @treizeXiii During activity the touchscreen is disabled except when on the map screen. It is not possible to turn the touch off in time mode. However, if you select Raise to Wake/Display Off or Time Only the touch screen is not enabled unless you press a button.

        Hello,

        can you please describe in more detail how this way of deactivating the touchscreen works? I have a problem when I wear the watch in a shower.

        Kind regards,
        Bernd

              I also think this feature would be a nice to have. Sometimes at shower I need to use the stopwatch and the screen goes crazy because of the water. I cant disable touchscreen or lock watch manually and I have to wait a while with my arm out of the water until the screen locks on its own.

                Hi all, I had a similar problem, I was doing a trail run for 8hrs in constant rain and had to navigate a gps route at the same time, so I was mainly relying on the map view during the run, but it was constantly being hit by the rain I think and the map view was slipping, so I was constantly having to go into the navigation settings during my run, and “navigate the route” again to refocus the map on my position on the track (I also tried the “snap to route” function but after a few minutes I was getting the distance vector from the position marker again. …) so yes, the possibility of completely blocking the touch screen on the default map view during an activity would be great…

                  @josephblcd
                  Snap to a route has a different meaning. You can refocus the map just by taping on it. If it doesn’t work due to a rainfall then you can hold the middle button to enter the menu where you can navigate the map with the buttons and then again (to exit the menu - it’s a workaround). You can also use the Custom battery mode to disable the touchscreen for a map. So it is possible to do what you mention in the last sentence.
