Suunto watches to come in 2024

@Egika maybe next time will come!
We need this : ):) -

no one in the forum would ever believe would come to life
I still believe that someday, someday, vibration strength will be adjustable on 9PP As I always believed the dreaded navigation nag in S5 will eventually be fixed
Jokes aside - from what I’ve heard this really is going to be a nice update with some features that were requested many times.
To quote some orange man from the realm of X:
BIG IF TRUE -
@Łukasz-Szmigiel The truth is that it seems to me that the vibration in the 9PP is a little weak, right?
-

@cosme-costa honestly features that no one in the forum would ever believe would come to life, being requested ages ago and forgotten, are coming. And not just with the next firmware, the plans for 2024 are larger than what is visible and will be visible in a few weeks.
I cannot wait to see the top 5 implemented
BTW, the 5th one could be consider as implemented, right? -
@suzzlo oh I see at least one coming, one being worked on, some already implemented. And that thread is only about the app.
-
@isazi Judging by your whispers we are very close…
-
@suzzlo
the 3rd & 4th ones ? Implemented ? -
@Mff73 suspect personal records would need an actual list of PRs (time against distance, HR/power against time) which would be a nice upgrade to bring it level with everyone else (Strava etc) on the app side at very least and then firmware wise to match Garmin.
-
All I’m hoping for in the next firmware is:
- alerts when you are above/below range on a workout
- an alert when a workout completes
- a way to see the upcoming steps in a workout
There are lots of other great suggestions but those are the ones that would improve most of my runs as I use workouts pretty much every time I go out.
I’d like to say if those are fixed I’d buy a Race (s) in an instant but who am I kidding, I’m prob. going to buy the Race S regardless!
-
@cosme-costa The ability to set multiple timers would be nice.
-
@far-blue Exactly what I thought.

Hope these ones
NGP as a field, (reliable on pls )
Data field on navigation/map screen
Music (integration with Spotify)
Routable map
Better interval training interface
SUUNTO Climb
Live tracking -
@Frederick-Rochette yeah, some of these
-
@Frederick-Rochette let me see, I guess some should come, at least one should kinda be in the works for this year or so, others who knows, this is only Q2 update we’re waiting for
-
To be honest, I know that when the firmware will be released some will say “why this and not that” and the usual “Suunto does not focus on this or that anymore, I don’t need this stupid stuff”, and some more “I can do better, other manufacturer I’m coming” and so on.
We are all different and what’s good for one of us is not for others. Myself, as a Vertical user, I’ll be pretty happy with the new features and changes, but I was also happy with Vertical on release day, so this is all pluses (for free) on top of something I already use everyday and appreciate as it is already, would have not bought it if not.

Just seen on Reddit that 25 seems to be race s day
So firmware should be the next surprise before July
And it match the Christmas hints we got
Despite the weather it seems that June will be a nice month after all
Regarding features I don’t understand people complaining about new features coming to their watches for free…. -
@isazi I totally agree with you.
I would also add that the more feature you add the more complex a product or ecosystem becomes, which some people don’t understand.
We also live in a feature-driven world were we want everything fast and always perfect. I myself tried a garmin fenix some time ago: it had literally everything and you had to spend ages to understand the logic behind all the features but it was full of bugs and for me it was too complex.
Putting hardware aside, in digital product and software design there is always a release roadmap and as a company to be able to deliver quality you have to do compromises.
I bet that the developer and product design team in Suunto are full of a lot of hardwork to do.
I’m super thrilled about every new feature, really!
But in the end what we really need is a lot of time to use and test the new features for ourselves, and having time is a luxury reserved for athletes/professionals or people who can carve it out of their private lives..
Btw, I thought my post was shorter
Thanks again for the insights!
Now I’ll go to sleep, that tomorrow I want train when its fresh outside in the morning! -
@Mff73 personal records & life track? I don’t think they are in the pipeline….

Regarding the new firmware on 9pp, I need nothing but reliable battery life, as it was before 2.30.32.
ps: and the ability to keep breadcrums turned off from training to training. That’s all, honestly
