great. but now i am reading this again , i ask myself one question : if proper FW package was well in your watch, didn’t you have already access to the normal “update FW” menu in settings/general ?
-
@Mff73 I did. Initially it behaved normally and started installing the new version. After the update fail it showed with the greyed text( as u have shown) and if I selected it it would say I was up to date even though my version was the older one.
-
@fritzbt2013 same thing!
-
@Mff73 Thank You! Success at step 2, too.

@Александр-Даниленко @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos my vote here to bring it back, it was working fine for me as well. That swim wall clock screen is so epic, please bring the marker back .

SUUNTO RACE S / SUUNTO RACE / SUUNTO VERTICAL / SUUNTO 9 PEAK PRO
Staged update starting on October 2nd 2024
Bug fixes:
- Fixed cases where sleep tracking and OHR stopped working
- Fixed a case where pool swim distance was wrong in logbook
- Fixed a case where power consumption remained high after navigation
Only I have after this update problem with speed tracking? Today I wanted to track my trip in Italy (mountains and hard terrain) and all time it was showing 10-20km/h, while in phone (I downloaded some app) it was like 2-5km/h.

@Antoine Am noticing much the same, suunto vertical and in the first 12Hrs I dropped 1% from a full charge (Hr active + blood oxygen), no activity. Now that my day has started and wrist buzz is humming along nicely to the arrival of new emails and msgs… I hope to see less than 5% for today (including a 1hr gps activity).
Same configuration as you.
6% in 36h with one run of 50 minutes.
HR active, blood oxygen, only bip but no buzz, no backlight. No navigation tested yet. -
SPP9 Updated tonight…it recorded just 1 h of sleep…in the hope it was because the updating.
-
@karmazynowycukiereczek Silly question, but didn’t you confuse the unit of pace in min/km with speed in km/h? The result would more or less match if the first value is min/km and the second is km/h.
-
First experience with battery life after the update: about 25% for a 4,5h workout with maps. Seems like before, I read somewhere the Race S only lasts 18h with maps. Would fit, but thats not great. I had hope the update would increase the lifetime 🫤
-
@VoiGAS
issue was more that battery was draining outside exercising, and this FW is expecting to fix this, not to improve the battery life during exercising. -
@Mff73 Yes, I will see this effect in the next hours - or hopefully not. I just thought maybe it also helps during the exercise, but Unfortunatly it doesn’t
-
@VoiGAS With Maps my Race S goes much longer than that! If you are on the maps page 100% maybe. Here is the battery estimate from a 9h event, it was slow as I was the sweep and managed to get 6 people over the finish line 2 min prior to the cutoff. Poorvo is Ocean and Ulsan is Race S.

Screenshot 2024-10-04 at 8.48.42 AMThanks for the data @Brad_Olwin ! Battery Life Estimate means “total duration of an activity on one single charge given the same battery consumption” ?
-
@taziden if you calculate duration*100/percentage you get roughly battery life estimate as on screenshot. So this confirms your assumption.

Indeed, silly me, thanks
-
@Brad_Olwin Very interesting! You are right, on both of my exercises with maps I had the map screen active nearly 100% ( but display not always on ). Is there a difference if the map screen is selected?
-
@VoiGAS Yes, since the map has to continually refresh more energy will be consumed. I typically have AOD off so raise to wake is on, but only use the map when needed. The battery estimates allow for some map usage but not full time on the map page.

Not sure if this happened with this update or when the watchfaces went to suunto+ store, but I use 2 different watches which both sync to suunto app with iphone 13. Suunto race and suunto 5 peak, when I change watch face in a race it works great, but when I change watch to suunto 5 in app and then reconnect race it changes the watch face back to default. Wtf??! Annoying bug, I would say. Anyone else have a same problem?
