@isazi. I was just remembering this. Everything points that next week is the awaited update and we know that we are receiving very good things.

I understand that everything is not going to be fixed but this is one of those things that once fixed, it will be fixed forever. It is a little enhancement for any watch that is coming that could share the base software of the Race/Vertical.

As a computer science engineer I can see this as something probably easy to fix, an improvement and with very little cost and worth to have a look at because it fixes an issue (if not now for a near future if possible).

@dreamer_ I agree 100%. This is a MAJOR miss. With my schedule I get up at different times on different days and I should be able to set it and forget it. And even though I am not a professional programmer, I am a hobbyist programmer and this would be an incredibly simple fix. I also agree with your point that this is a bug, and a pretty big one at that.

Another improvement, based on Suunto Ocean, if the alarm continues to sound it will be automatically snoozed after 30 seconds. We could customize it with an option to choose how many automatic snoozing will be performed util automatically dismiss it to the end. It prevents alarm sounding again, again and again…

My Race got an update yesterday but this issue has not been fixed yet. How is that possible?

I have a Garmin FR935 bought in 2017 that can set alarms for weekdays and I even remember than this was solved more than a decade ago (and I’m pretty sure it’s probably more than 15 years than Garmin addressed this).

But everybody but Suunto has this solved many many years ago.

            Suunto’s wake up alarms:

Someone should have a look at this. It does not have sense when everybody has fixed it (many years ago)

it is not an “ISSUE” it is the way it is designed “CURRENTLY”.
So it is not to speak about FIX, but about IMPLEMENTATION, and then a matter of PRIORITY 🙂

And yes, i would like this as well.

                  @sartoric lol 😁 😁 😁 .
The real thing is that the wake up alarm is such a basic thing of the watch that nobody I ask understands how this has not been addressed yet . As posted before with all the watches of the other companies, it is many years this should have been fixed.

Everything is about priorities but this is really weird…Someone should say Suunto, hey please take a couple of hours to have a look at the 15 year old alarm design.

I agree with you that alarms should be improved and the Stop Watch too. They should, at least, align with the competition.

I concur, coming from a $50 smart watch, I am used to be able to set alarms for each individual weekday as my weekends are untraditional (ie not Saturday and Sunday) so I would like to be able to set the days differently.

I might be repeating myself, but it would also be great to be able to choose whether the alarm beeps, vibrates or both. I may not always want a super loud alarm going off, like when I’m in a meeting or in rehearsal or performing or at the theater… I need this option.

Yes, please! I just swapped from garmin and the custom days alarm is a must for people living on different schedulers.

                            Hello,

I second this very very strongly (custom days alarm and less important, but would be great, the possibility to choose ring/vibrate or both)

I just got the Race S and first thing I wanted to set are the wakeup alarm clocks
I have specific wakeup hours depending on the day.
Could do that simply on the Forerunner 255 and won’t be able to keep the race S without this feature as my watch is my only alarm clock device

                            Regards

+1 for this - the ability to set different alarms based on a varied pattern of work / life would be great.

Computers can run alarm clock apps!

Note, it’s fine if “alarm clock features” are a requirement for one’s watch. I was just surprised to hear there’s literally no other device that could work as an alarm clock.

I use an old smartphone as alarm clock since it is very flexible to set several alarms with different times and days

@raven Obviously I do have a phone, even a computer, but I don’t want to bring them in the bedroom, and the big plus with a watch (on my wrist), is that I’m able to set vibrate alarm and so I don’t wake up my wife …
And to be totally complete, I also use alarms during day time because there are times where I cannot have my phone with me

PS : maybe “won’t be able to keep the race S without this feature” was too quick, will see 😉 But even if this feels like a small feature, it seems so easy to implement that I was disappointed not to see that

@wzxecr Ok your situation makes more sense now. I wasn’t sure if you were exaggerating the lack of options, or forgetting what you might have available, etc. I agree tactile wake up versus sound can be nice. I’ve heard of some implementations where an alarm will try to optimize when to wake you based on how it’s thinking if your sleep cycle; that is, you tell it to wake you between 7:00-7:30 but no later and if it thinks 7:14 is the best time it will do that.

As for if or when Suunto might do things, I’d say often things like this are more a question of priority than of complexity. A team has multiple features that they want to implement but need to decide on what to do first. It’s not always the simplest things that get done first.
