Updating an itinerary while in activity stopped the activity

Hi everyone,
I saw a couple of weeks ago that you can create a route and push it to the watch, use it to navigate in an activity and if needed, edit it in the app would keep the one in the watch synchronized (there).
I tested it this weekend, but it killed my activity.
I am using a Vertical Solar with the software version 2.40.38
I started a road bike activity, then switched to multisport for a trail one with navigation (which I edited to match my exact starting point). When I saved the route, the activity stopped, and I had to create a new one.
The killed activity (showing up as trail in my history, when it is cycling switched to trail for less than 5mins, I’ve edited it to be the right sport).
This activity is also bugged (no ascension for example).Is this the right way to do it? I’ll try again at the next opportunity I have to find if the multisport had an impact on this.

@Loïc-Fracheboud I have experimented that too :
If you want to modify the current route you’re navigating on, it crashes the activity. The only way : create another route in the app and charge it in navigation settings.
