Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)
-
@Александр-Даниленко I have exactly the same sincde Friday 4 April. No more sleep tracking, resources or HRV… All day HR is ok.
-
@Artus-Diver You’re right that the update did not resolve a problem. But to be fair the results have improved a bit. The pool’s lengths are now counted better. I’ve been following this problem for two years now, and I admit it’s getting better but still, if you do a strange move in the water the watch could be wrong in counting. Also keep in mind that this particular update was not intended to improve style recognition. Maybe it’ll come with the next updates, I hope so…

help !!!
I couldn’t find it so I’m asking
Vertical - – After the last update I’m trying to change the battery setting - I set it to performance but it always goes back to custom
eny help hear
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos -
@Danny-poleg go to custom battery settings and recreate the settings identical to performance mode and save as custom. Next time it’ll default to performance.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel First of all thanks -
I just tried without actually going out for a workout outside - I finish a workout but it still goes back to custom but I did notice that in performance mode the touchscreen in map mode works
What am I doing wrong -
@Danny-poleg Are you using a custom sport mode?
-
@Ghost No - I will point out that this is a problem for me and a friend
My friend and I are trying this on “Running Basic” -
@Danny-poleg Just tried it on my Vertical. If I use the Running Basic mode, it always switches back to “Performance” every time.
-
@Danny-poleg did you try setting custom battery mode to mimic the performance mode (exact settings), saving it and then going back to the watchface and into the workout screen again?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel
A bit late reply - I think it’s because of the time difference.
Yes, both battery modes show me the same battery time left for training. -
@Danny-poleg generally the fix for custom battery mode being stuck as default is to recreate the desired mode (i.e. performance) as custom. The next time the default should switch if the settings match.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel Thanks again
I also tried aerobic training and the change is not permanent
Not bad overall, both battery modes currently give me the same battery time for training so let’s not get into the nitty gritty -
@Danny-poleg You are not alone. i already posted this problem much earlier and you can scroll down and read few more messages.
https://forum.suunto.com/post/164415my Custom mode are set same with Performance mode but still going back to Custom mode.
-
@babychai In custom sports mode I would not like at all to have performance back every time, because as it is a custom mode I expect it to stay as I set it up. But in standard mode it is weird.
-
@Ghost Yup, i understand your point. now my Custom sports mode and Standard Mode still going back to battery Custom mode. so i believe this version is a bug there. Previously i always successfully change to Performance mode become default.
-
@babychai For my Vertical, this changed about two firmware versions ago. From my perspective, it’s not a bug—I actually liked the change. I configure it the way I want, and when I go somewhere that needs more precise GPS, I switch to Performance, knowing my custom settings will return for the next run. Time will tell if it’s a bug or an intentional move.

Talking about battery: I discharged (completely)my S9PP Tuesday evening in order to recalibrate battery after the last two updates. Now is 95% with HR 24 and sleep monitoring on. No activities in these two days. It seems to be improved…let’s see how this goes for the future!
Fun fact: the watch went over during a running sessions. Screen stayed freeze at 2% and no way to refresh it clicking the buttons. Once in charge it went back recording the activity (never stopped even if the gps track record went missed).
-
I have somewhat of an irony of a bug to report, that the Loop Pace S+ app doesn’t work with the track running sports mode. I’ll try it again but it refuses to work, even when toggled off and on again.
Oh and the mode doesn’t give an estimated VO2 max either.
-
@babychai yup, seems like a bug. I’ve just noticed in one of my sports modes that it defaults to custom, even despite it being identical to performance.
-
Today I had my vertical in battery saving and at a random occurrence it rebooted itself … after reboot it was set in non battery saving state.
