@larrybbaker For example, footpaths and unpaved roads are marked in this way.

@larrybbaker You got it in the second picture. It wasn’t until this update. I don’t like it at all. Especially in the city, it looks very ugly.

I think what @Pavlas is seeing are sidewalks which now have the bulky dashed lines applied. This looks a bit of a mess in busy areas that are micro-mapped. What @larrybbaker has pictured are trails (foot trails, paths, etc.) and those look relatively unchanged in the update.

I’ve noticed that roads and other solid-line paths are now outlined when zoomed at 50m and below. This is a subtle change, but adds clarity between roads and other paths when zoomed close.

The real question, though, is when is the map data itself going to be updated? It’s been over a year and half since my area has seen any updates. There are a number of trail networks that are now out of date on the watch maps. Even Garmin has updated their TopoActive maps to include OSM changes from the past year. And I thought their update process was slow.

New one looks “cheap”. Old one more “clear” and less agressive. 😞

I don’t disagree, but I think Suunto has chosen to design for clarity in environments outside of urban areas. That is, trails and landscape features should be easily distinguishable in less densely mapped areas. It’s pretty difficult to design a map style that works well in both urban and rural areas. Perhaps they could design a “city” map style in the future that’s more clear in urban environments.

@herlas on Android I don’t have these options. Maybe the App will update!

Scratch that, they have now appeared.

                                Excellent update

Just for the record (luckily my life does not depend on it):
Sleep tracking failed after I applied the update. Will do a soft reset and see…

When it comes to software, my Race really is an adventure watch. 😉 but I like adventure.

It stays in custom battery mode at activity start even if i set same parameters as in performance mode. How can i set it to choose performance mode battery by default ?

Is baro sensitivity also updated? I wend bouldering (gym) yesterday and it counted 48m. I always put my watch in pocket when I climb, so there is more than 1m difference when I reach the top and my feet are rarely more than 3m above ground. It normaly counts 10-12m for the session. Graph looks ok. If this is not a mistake, then great 🙂

@duffman19 I don’t think the maps were any less clear before the update. ’ I personally was very happy with the maps. I don’t understand this change and am thinking about downgrading for the first time. This really irritates me. Sorry.
Of course I commend the other improvements and thank you for them!
