Regarding battery consumption, I haven’t done precise measurements yet, so I can’t give exact numbers. But based on real-world use, the impact seems relatively low, actually lower than I initially expected.

e.g, with my 3y.o. phone (which already has some battery degradation), I managed around 4-5 hours of continuous tracking and battery still had some capacity. I seen some testers have reported up to 6 hours tracks.

That said, it would definitely be interesting to measure this more accurately.

Another question : I have read I can launch tracking during exercice.
What if I stop it or if phone loose connection to network ?
Does it need to be launched again in both cases ?
And so I guess it generates another link for tracking ?

first of all thank you for the application.
i have completed the first short tests.
the application works very stable. only the altimeter between the watch and the application can be 3-4 m different.
the application can add a go to location feature on maps. (suggestion like Apple find)
as a more advanced level, it can be added as a widget and send the location every 10-15 minutes, not only during the event. (suggestion)
it also takes values such as temperature, I think these can be added to the page.

Hi @Sascha-Domres From what I can see in the screenshot, it looks like there’s no location data received yet. The live session actually becomes available only after the first location point is sent.

Try starting the workout and wait until the watch gets a GPS signal once that happens, the session should go live and become visible in the web.

Just small test this morning, it seems great ! I’ll test it more deeply tonight including battery consumption regards.
Are we ok that SA doesn’t need to be active, only live.t app ?

Thanx for sharing your ideas!, having a widget could be a very useful feature for both platforms. I’ll look into it.

As for temperature, I’ve been a bit unsure about its reliability. unfortunatelly, the SuuntoPlus platform is quite limited in how many metrics can be shared at once. I’m currently considering removing temperature in favor of more useful metrics like cadence.

Could it be possible to add a simple « pseudo » field that would be then displayed in tracking screen : not the most common case but on some races with few people to follow, it could be easier to identify the different tracking screens

@Sascha-Domres I’ve add the same even if I only had one app activated. I unpinned it, pinned live app and pinned again my other app => works

@Tieutieu At the moment, there’s an ID field shown on the tracking screen, which corresponds to the app’s device ID. You could find it on the main screen. It’s functional, but not very human-friendly, I agree.

We’re planning to add Suunto account linking in the future and once that’s available, it will be possible to display and share your Suunto pseudonym, which should make identifying tracked users much easier in situations like races. And bring another benifits.

The idea was that the person going for a run shares the link themselves (via QR code or directly from the app). But I agree it would definitely be helpful to have a more convenient way to access and share the link from the website as well. That’s something I’d like to improve soon.

What I meant was that the website didn’t show (or I didn’t notice) instructions on how to easily do it from the app.

As for the map style 100% agree. The default OSM tiles aren’t ideal for mountainous or outdoor terrain. We tried using some paid services with better topographic layers, but they became too expensive once we had more than one active user . So right now I’m looking for topographic data, that we’ll hosted by ourselves.

It’s a shame it has to be an external project without Suunto support.
Suunto has all the elements (maps, user accounts, sharing options, route visualizations) in-house to do this using Suunto resources.

@Nikolai-Simonov I just did new tests. I don’t get any data in the area with the power icon in the application. Also, sometimes blood pressure information goes away.

Wow, I just used this for the first time. And it’s really good.
Kudos on this!
I had a couple of questions…

the blue circle near the start, it dropped the track for a while, but recovered after 3minutes. I wonder if this because app/phone was connected to wifi at the office, and then when leaving it goes to cellular.
after the bridge it also lost again the signal, but recovered.
(The Suunto GNSS track does not have the GNSS dropouts showing in it’s track).
Is there a reason why watts are shown, and not Distance, I would think distance would be one of the key data fields. Or is that some limitation on from Suunto.

Again, great implementation.
