Thank you! I plan trying Zonesense - if I understood correctly, HR belt is required?
-
@ElectronBadger yes, but not optical, armbands do not work.
-
@ElectronBadger great choice! - I can highly recommend Suunto‘s Training Lecture Series Videos! They are really helpful to get into Suunto’s system of Training and Recovery.

@ChrisA Thank you, I’m already at EP4. I’m not a novice runner, but I find a lot of good stuff there.

I still love the watch, get used to its weight and find the size perfect. Here are my additional observations:
- Suunto should make a nylon velcro straps, they are better for fitting the watch more precisely. The silicon strap is nice, but it’s not breathable and precise fitting might be problematic.
- Compared with Coros Pace 2, SV is MUCH better in terms of GPS-based pace measurement. Not only it’s more accurate for the whole run, but also (and it was one of the main problems with Pace 2 for me), SV is much more responsive to changes in pace. 5/5 here.
- Compared with Coros Pace 2, SV wakes on wrist rise much faster and more reliably. Again, 5/5 here.
- I’ve been using SV for almost 2 weeks and made 33 trainings within that period (running, weight lifting and stretching). This evening my battery is on 47%. 5/5.

@ElectronBadger Today, 3 weeks after I started using my SV, I had to recharge the battery for the first time, BUT only because in order to install the new firmware the battery had to be at 20% and mine was at 18%
-
@ElectronBadger I’m also still impressed with the accuracy of GPS-based pace measurement. It’s superb.

@ElectronBadger Here’s my impression after using SV for 4 months. I love it, really. It feels and looks great. I do a lot more trainings thanks to the app and its coach. My results have improved significantly over the last few months. I do running, trail running, cycling, hiking, trekking, weight lifting, stretching and vertical running activities - there is everything I need. Using Suunto HR belt I get excellent HR recordings. Zone Sense is great. GPS accuracy is great. Battery life is stellar. I’m waiting for the black nylon strap to be available where I live. Thank you, all you gals and guys at Suunto for making the best watch I’ve ever had.

@ElectronBadger I agree with you on the straps! I wear Garmin Ultrafit nylon straps with my SV and purchase the straps and pins on Amazon. This setup works extremely well and tends to give me better OHR.
-
@Brad_Olwin I use the same Garmin straps for my Suunto watches but they are way too expensive. Haven’t had the chance to test the new Suunto straps (Suunto Run). How do they feel with the Race/Vertical? Worth buying?
-
@Highlands From what I’ve heard from another user - the new strap works fine with SV.
-
@Highlands sú super mám Race a mám ich
žltý aj šedý

@Miroslava @ElectronBadger Thank you. I like the black and the red one. I’ll give them a try when the local retailer has them in stock.
-
@ElectronBadger I use the Run straps on my Vertical, they work perfectly
-
@isazi My black textile strap is on the way

@ElectronBadger Got it today, like it a lot. It’s thin, VERY light, my SV feels stable. Will have my first training run in the evening. Much better fit to my skinny forearm
