Suunto Run + New Strap

Just wondering, how does the nylon strap handle beach environment with salt water.
I got the black nylon strap for the Race and I’m going on a holiday to Elba island for few weeks. Should I change the silicon strap when going to the beach. -
Me and my family have been using the strap during swimming and also kite boarding activities.
It is pretty fast drying - just wear it and maybe shower with it afterwards to remove salt.
No issues at all. -

I did it that way as I’m used to the Apple like sport loop straps for years. If you look through the photos on the ordering page for the different colors you see that they wear it either way.
I wonder what way it is safer to use although I haven’t had experienced accidental opening the velcro, yet.

@Elmiuel it was on the Italian website, but now they’re out of stock again. I ordered mine yesterday night at about 4:00, I wasn’t sleeping…
Some days ago, for curiosity I checked in several European websites and they where it off stock everywhere, likely the black one is the most popular (?) -

Black version just arrived to me today morning! Its super comfortable and looks great, but Iam just the one that smaller (S+M) strap is too short, and second one from pack (M+L) is too big, and “buckle” hits my bezel when tight enough? Something between these two lenghts would be perfect. Iam using Suunto Race maybe thats why. With Suunto Race S maybe (S+M) would perfect for me.

After many and many years of use Suunto watch to record my activities.

yeah, it’s different by design. As well as other things in the UI. -

@Jan-Van-de-Velde Hi Jan, but not in my country or region. Suunto doesn’t ship to other countries if you buy it outside your country, which is my case (Spain). The Black bracelet is like the HOLY GRAIL…

How long do you think velcro will last? More than a year if you adjust it like three times per day? I just bought new forest green silicon strap because old one started to break down. It lasted two years. If only new strap would come in forest green color I would order it straight away. I like how green fits with bezel color.

I ordered the black strap for my Race Ti and have been using it for some weeks.
Today I changed back to original silicone strap. For me it looks and feels much nicer and to be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with the velcro strap. -
@Jugger I have a none Suunto velcro strap, Hemsut is the make. After over a year of daily use the velcro is as good as new.

velcro system is improved a lot from the first versions, where the “flurry” part ended up to lose its grip, I believe the ATH7 straps should work for a long time. I love them, they are just a little too thin for my Race, but perfect for the RS of my wife
