SUUNTO VERTICAL unusual battery drain
-
hello there.
I am posting for the 1st time here soo I am sorry in advance for any issues with my post.
As you can see, I own Suunto Vertical non solar which I am happy with its performance. but latest update 2.43.12 “provided” me with issue of battery. Before that update, my watch used around 8-10 % for around 5hour GPS track mode on best, navigation and chest strap for HR. it baerly went above 2 % per hour.
few days ago I ve done update and now my battery seems like downgrade in performance. Today I did an easy trail run, around two and a half hours for 11km, I turn on my navigation aswel due to some unknown terrain, i also had whrist HR on. i started my run with 39 % of battery, i ve ended with 33 %, thats like 6 % per 2:30 hours from which two hours were moving time, half an hour was in rest / on pause. soo lets say that translates with more than 3 % per hour of battery drain, even 4 %. thats like half less.
any1 else have similar issues with new update?
thanks already.

@bokiloki12f Haven’t noticed an issue so far - but I would let it run all the way out and then do a full charge. Seems like post upgrade there are battery issues sometimes and they resolve with a full charge/discharge cycle.

Like Larry said. I used Vertical for 2 years, and VERY often i had like 2x higher battery drain after update. I just drained it to 0% and re-charge it to 100%. Than It back to normal. Try this, if won’t help., we will think about something else.

I’ve had my Vertical for a year, and I’ve never had any battery issues. Since the latest update, the battery barely lasts 5 days doing the same activities. Before, it lasted two weeks. I’ve done a soft reset, a full discharge, and a full charge, but it’s still the same. What can I do? Should I do a factory reset? -

hello
I have been doing battery tests for a while. I did these tests again for the last fw. (2.43.12). I couldn’t prepare a detailed report because I couldn’t find the time. but I can say this in summary;- The watch consumes 3% more in normal use (basic features like notifications, heart, etc. are on).
- In exercise mode, it consumes 5% more depending on which suunto plus application is used.
When charging with the sun, if the charge is more than 90%, it charges from 95% to 100% in 1 hour with the sun.
However, when the charge was below 90%, the charge increased by only 1% despite being under the sun for 3 hours. (These tests were done with a special mechanism, with high efficiency in the afternoon heat, by vibrating the watch every 2 minutes so that it wouldn’t go to sleep)
If I find time, I will take the notes of the test with lots of visuals and videos, write the text and share it.
For me suunto is still number one …
