First of all congrats for making this app for Suunto. For many of us it was sth, which was missing, when we go to trails - to have kind of buck up in case which we hope will never happen.Unfortunately for me, current implementation of live tracking as it is with you app and S+ is having 2 major downsides caused by in my understanding BT connections limitations. In my case these are observations based on Suunto Race S & iOS 18.5 - both official not beta:
-> first one: when you have live track active, you get no notifications form the phone to your watch. For me, when I go for a run, I get pretty often quite a lot of phone calls (kids, work), and few app notifications. Now, being able to to see who’s calling (my kids or someone who I don’t know), I know when I can answer the call on my headphones, and when I can call back. It is also matter of safety as I told my kids that if anything will happen during my run, they can call. But I’m not keen to answer calls related to work during my runs This I will handle after workout.-> second which in my case is deciding to do not use LT, and which I have noticed today during long run: when you have connection taken by LT, you cannot connect any HR belt to the watch
In case of any watch, I use hr belt, as OHR sensors are pretty ‘unstable’, especially when you do some intervals during the run. In case of Suunto, as a bonus, you’re loosing possibility to use Zone Sense, which is basing on the hr belt. For me, who trains based on zones, TBH it is must have to have hr readings from the belt, and very demanded to be able to train according to Zone Sense.I don’t know, is it possible to get over this limitation, but I think that for quite a lot users, above might be a big problem.

I commented on this above, but thought it might be due to my using an older operating system. Interesting that you are experiencing this as well.
Can anyone comment on whether or not they are recieving watch notifications while using the Live.t app? This is also a big issue for me as I need to see specific incoming calls/texts.

Would it be possible to elaborate on the uploading gpx file.
How is it used and how is it beneficial? How does it synchronize with actual person I’m tracking live? -
When using the live app I also sometimes loose belt and other sensor connections.
I reported this to the team fyi and sent logs.

I was at the Val d’Aran trail race this weekend. I saw that Suunto was advertising on a sign this new fearure LiveTracking.
So my quesions: ultimately, shouldn’t the “fair price” be covered by Suunto?
It has been probably already discussed ?
And why not integrate your development into the Suunto app in order to have juste one application ? Perhaps is it already foreseen ?
Besides, it would be simpler to communalize certain things like mapping, routes, etc… -

Hi, I’ve a Race and while I can connect the live tracking app and get it up and running on the watch and mobile side it happens that I’m never able to track positions… I always get a “Device ID not found” when trying to use it. Any ideas? I’ve tried to reset the watch, and install/reinstall all android apps. I’m using an Oneplus Nord 4 with android 15.
I’ve also noticed that when Live tracking is on the media controls stop working as if those two were not compatible. Any clues?

️thanks so much for this. I can activate all like descriped above. But in next workouts when i will deactivate the button “live tracking” in the Suunto+ section IN THE WATCH cause i dont need it in a other workout my watch complete crash and goes in a safe state. 4 times now… Did your App from suunto+ store only work with newer Firmware than 2.37.48? I have this Version cause thats the only one who counts the swim distance in Pool. All newer Firmware is terrible in correct counting pool swim distance.
Does anybody have the same issue?

be as good as you want in latest fw, every release is correcting bugs, issues…

I think you should. Also, consider that with OTA updates, you’re probably among a very very few number people who have downgraded. I beg it’s under 0,01% of users.
If I was a dev myself I would not try to test all old versions of my app but be sure that it works on every latest release. -
