Has Suunto automated finally the âresourcesâ, or does the user still have to play days or weeks with the minimal HR to get correct values?
Though I think I will wait for the Vertical 2 (s). As I use the AOD, Suuntoâs look very simple in contrast to the ones from Huawei, Samsung, Apple, or Garmin. Once again, I hope Suunto will change its sales strategy and, like other manufacturers, will release different models of the same watch, such as size, materials, AMOLED, or MIP at the same time. This is much better for the client who can then choose what they want. -
A few things I donât like so far:
- Sleep tracking is not reliable, the watch doesnât recognize waking times reliably. Race 1 has no issues with that.
- Sleep data is not transfered to Suunto app:

- Scrolling with the crown is not as fluid as it was with Race 1. There is this lag between a transition from watch face to menu items sometimes, within menu items as well. Just doesnât feel smooth.
- Resources are almost always 99%. Race 2 is not measuring any stress, I almost only recover all the time. Race 1 is measuring that very reliable.
- The stock watch band is the most uncomfortable band from Suunto ever made. Itâs thick and not flexible, but this is just my opinion.

I have 2 questions sorry if the first one as already been raise but is there something like tap to wake available ?
I hate using raise to wake while in a boring meeting looking for the time
Second is more a request, if someone have a white race 2 with a yellow run band I would like to see a picture, I ask ChatGPT to create one mixing the 2 existing pictures and it look damn cool -
Quick question regarding the new charging cable - are you actually able to charge the old SR/SV using the new charger? And are you able to charge the new SR2 with the previous cable?

@timecode hmm, i have problems with S5 that is doesnât recognize when i am awake. It is just tracking when i donât move rather then when i sleep. I am seriously thinking about upgrate to Race2. I hoped for improvement in this too.

@Josaiplu tap to wake and bump with palm of your hand to make it dark again are usefull in everyday use.

if i donât count dump casio watch i had only Suunto Ambit 2 and currently Suunto 5, and my wife has S5 Peak. But i trie do give my opinion if i donât like something, or even when i see clear bug in some feature from programming experience. But as good/bad some suunto features may be, i still have soft spot for Suunto. Now i am currently plan to upgrade to Race 2. To S5 it is multi generation upgrade and mid to high class upgrade som i expect a lot -
@Tomas5 pretty sure you will enjoy the upgrade it seems to be a great watch
miss few features for me to switch too but great enough too make me tempted too -
@Josaiplu i would prefere MIP but i saw Race S and it looks fine, not a fan of amoled but i can handle it. And in S5 i really miss compas because it make navigation feature hardly usable when hiking. So i will be really happy with SR2. Hope for much better OHR too, since S5 they say almost every time that sensor is much better than previouse watch, so when now my S5 are 30-40% of time much away from reality, i hope in much better results with SR2. Hope it will be less than 10% of activity, preferably less than 5% of time when HR is completly wrong. But i am sure i will let you know. Now i am waiting for orange one to be in stock again.

@Tomas5 well upgrading to R2 wonât fix anything, in fact my experience is that sleep tracking is way worse than all of the watches I had.

I hope it is just bug and sleep tracking will be as good as Race 1 or Race S. I donât see much conplains about sleep on that watch. With beter sensors it should deliver better results.

Today i sold my AppleWatch 10 LTE and bought Suunto Race 2.
So, im back to the Suunto community after short advanture with Suunto Race S one yera ago.
Iâm full of hope that Race 2 will be much better than Race S. New Suunto App, New HR. Two apple watches in my hand in last yeras, firs Series 7, and now series 10 and i can tell. HR is the best and healt stats. And that it. No deep sports metrics by apple, App are not so good as it should. And battery life. One day bike trip with out charger and phone is hard to make. Hike are limited to outside apps if you want a map with directions.
Now with Suunto Race 2 all will be better. And if suunto add payment NFC method in the future this will be superb watch with all i need. Im happy after all and Hello again.
