iPhone app crash when downloading 300h activity
-
Hi,
I have a 300+ hour activity that I cannot download from my Vertical. The “wheel” keeps spinning for almost an hour, then the iPhone app crashes.
After analyzing the iPhone error logs, I concluded that the app runs out of memory.
I tried all the usual fixes (soft reset, delete app, reinstall app, re-pairing, different iPhone, iPad, etc.). Nothing has worked so far and the Suunto customer service has been unhelpful at best.
Anybody has/had the same problem and found a workaround. I need this activity as proof for a 500mi FKT.
Best,
.: ChristofApp version: 3.2.0

@elevationpain
Do you have a real good Internet connexion?
Do you have access to an android phone, just in case to try with it?
300h is quite huge activity. -
@elevationpain this should be ok but impressive!!! I will tag @pavel.samokha here as he has been quite helpful with this issue.

Great achievement and sorry for inconvenience.
Try sync and please send as log https://www.suunto.com/Support/faq-articles/suunto-app/how-to-send-diagnostic-logs-on-suunto-app/
Is this the activity which you started on 2025-08-25?

@elevationpain in addition to what listed above could you please also check if you have iPhone reports like shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uu3sjN1--BM and share to me in Direct Message here

@pavel.samokha Thanks for your help!
I was finally able to sync the Vertical with my beefy iPad (256GB). So the activity is off the watch, but it is now “stuck” in the app, is not accessible, and does also not sync with Strava. I can see it on my iPhone, but if I try to open it (on both the iPad and the iPhone), the map is grey. The stats are showing and are correct, but I cannot access the activity otherwise. None of the buttons work. The back button does work, however. The app eventually crashes if I just wait and do nothing.
The iPad app still shows the a pop up with “Uploading activity,” but that’s been there for many hours now. It looks like a sync issue to the cloud now.
I did send the app logs to the customer service, but didn’t hear back. I’ll re-send them, both from the iPhone and the iPad.
Thanks!

@elevationpain Thanks. Investigating.
Could you also check if you have iPhone reports like shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uu3sjN1--BM and share to me in Direct Message on the forum. -
@elevationpain Yes, I have checked the iPhone/iPad logs. They show several fatal crashes. I’ll DM you the recent ones. Have just updated to iOS26, so the older ones were deleted.
Thanks!
