Suunto Vertical 2 General Discussion

@Christos-Chryssochoidis
The watch hasn’t been released for sale in Türkiye yet.
I’ll check it out when it arrives.
I hope we don’t experience these problems here either. -

Asking again: can’t we have only “Baro” on top of the graph instead of trying to fit the whole word “Barometer”?
-
I just realized something V1 is the mip version of the V2.
V2 is not a replacement, just an improvement. this is how it is marketized as a matter of fact.suunto is keeping the v1 and v2 in parallel. I understand now why there is no MiP V2. it is to soon. both wiil get similar updates (until when?? this is the question) it is confirming that Ill wait for the v3. I am only attracted by the led torch, I still love my V1 and his solar/mip capacities. and is more than enough in terms of performance, even if I am a tech geek, I’ll wait

-
@Antoine-Lancrenon I believe once the V1 is sold out then that is it for production.
-
@Doodoo-Runner a yes? there are terminating the producion of v1!? may be there are lots of stock. it is weird giving the marketing:

I can’t take it anymore with the HR sensor bug that randomly shuts off. It messes up all my sleep stats, which are crucial for me!!! I have sleep disorders and with Suunto I can’t monitor properly. I have to sleep with 2 watches…
-
I do have information, that Vertical 1 will be continued.

My Vertical 2 touchscreen goes wild in the shower. This morning it activated an alarm from my stored alarms. Did some reading here and found another victim and some older posts about disabling the touchscreen. So is there now any possibility to disable only touchscreen input and not the buttons when not doing a workout? It would be nice to have a toggle that you could switch like “Do not disturb” mode has. I did read the manual (I never read manuals, things should just work…
) and only found a way to disable touchscreen and buttons during workouts. Actually I think I could use the watch with only the buttons all the time.I’m new to watches with touchscreens as my old one was Garmin Fenix 5x plus and my last Suunto was Ambit 2. Did not anticipate this kind of little things when getting a touchscreen watch

In other ways I really like this watch. Still getting used to the different metrics it has compared to my old watch. The battery life is impressive for a watch with an amoled screen!
-
@OpaJaa power saving mode in the control panel
-
@Brad_Olwin Thanks, did not think of that! But would still be nice to be able to only switch off the touchscreen. But this will do for now.

You can define one of the button shortcuts as “button lock”. I always do this in the shower.
It comes into effect immediately. DND needs some time until the watch goes to sleep -
@Egika The only issue is that the touch screen still activates the backlight when it is manually locked but does prevent accidental swipes into menus etc.
-
@Egika tried that and it works quite nicely. Thanks!
